been designing one in the last month (in my head) will put into motion soon . will be making one up with 12mm plywood to start with (about 100mm, paint it black) and see how it works .. eventually make it out of carbon/or aluminium you mean the bonnet where the rear section has been slightly raised? fibreglass is never perfect though with the spoiler on everyone with VTEC wants to race spoiler is literally 5mins (3 trim screws and 6 nuts)to put it on and off .
Finally have some time over xmas . time to finish off the BEAST SUPER WIDEBODY . SUPER =the most proportional ,functional ,and factory looking kit . rear has been done ,now front SPL and front bar need to be modified . With wheels straight you can see how the front guards tuck back in to meet the front bar .. no good for function with big wheels !
WARNING - not for the fainthearted STEP 1 Cut bar and open it to width . . STEP 2 cut outside of guard and spread it to width . . . STEP 3 cut the guard section and bolt it back to original location onto the frontbar . then bandaid tack everything with fibreglass to hold into position. . . you can see how much clearance there is now . . REPEAT OTHER SIDE .
Just wondering with the widening, wouldnt the efficiency of your wing decrease? Might be wrong but I thought the wing had to be wider than the car to provide efficient downforce...please do correct me though Ryan Ps: looks awesome
The wing size will provide a certain amount of downforce at a certain speed no matter how wide the car is . the wing is a lot bigger than it looks ..depending on camera and angle .1720mm ..body has to be at least 1860 -1870mm now
"wing is a lot bigger than it looks" really, it looks like a Cessna wing already, and is intruding into light plane air space, traffic control will be on your case for flying low.
Always wanted a private jet. I believe at around 280km/h with the wing adjusted upwards ,I'll get off the ground .
Bravo Echo Alpha Sierra Tango please return to controlled air space ! This is starting to look like a street driven time attack car. :br:
Finished fibreglassing the inside of the guards and bar today . added 2 more layers on the whole width as it was too thin for my liking in that area . Removed the side indicators for a slicker look . (rear bar has had reflector shaved previously)
Nice build! The black beast is looking beastly with the wide body kit. How hard was it to tune with the ethanol sensor? I'm told it can be a lengthy process.
its still on the run-in tune on 98 pump . once I get ID2000cc injectors I'll tune for the fuel flex which consists of about 7 different maps ..98 - E15 - E30 - E45,etc up to E100 if I want . (I'll max out the ID1000cc on E85) .
Matt Pool, the owner, is a good guy at ID I have his 1200cc kit. 2000cc's are huge and maybe difficult to tune with. What are your power goals?
