You have obviously never driven a gtst then.. I've owned both (TT and GTST) and thought they were fairly on par, gtst has 4:3 diff gears and spools up really quick and revs its head off, TT has awesome torque...but seriously who cares, who drives a stock import anyway..

    Not so relevant but..
To be honest I really liked my skyline they sound awesome.

skylines are fun to skid to :)

zed does good skids to though (a re-post but meh)

I've driven three GTSt's, and no they aren't on par with a TT by a long shot. A r33 GTSt with catback and pod IS NOT quick and i have beaten them time and time again. Fair enough when you pump some real mods into them then you can see a big difference, but close to standard? Don't think so. Also an r33 has 4.11 diff gears, r32 gtst(even slower)has 4.36 gears.

Also does the skyline have 20's? and a leather trimmed engine bay?

Autosalon is a terrible place :(

heh @ this thread well i now own a TT ZED and a R32 Gts-t, my sister has an r33 GTS-T.

instantley i can say the zed has more low down torque and would beat the 33 off the line, Ide say they would even up mid way and then the zed will pull away at higher speeds.

the thing i love about the Z is that you can be cruising at 140kph, put your foot down and it will still pull hard as a bitch all the way upto 200+

the 33, at these speeds feels like its losing puff. A while back though my sis got a nice heavy duty button clutch, her car feels alot quicker now for some reason, just pulls a bit harder, chirps 255's on the rear when taking off hehe, probably just cause of the clutch but still feels pretty beast.

my z is runing 14 lb boost on an average engine with not so great turbos, big exhaust, pod filter and fmic it only gets a boot every once and a while and around town basiclly never sees boost (too many cops, too little money to waste on them) my mate has a R33 gtst with a dyno tuned nistune board and highflow turbos at 14 lb never lined them up (no legal strips here) but everyone who has been in both claim mine is faster by a long stretch, my guess is my turbos come on faster so it may be simply a case of perception but again all who have been in his car say it is fast at a level that is fun where they claim mine scares them.

as for r32 gtst at stock level my NA mazda V6 2 ltr was on par with my mates r32 gtst and my Z wipes the floor with my mazda at stock boost.

Back when I lived in Hamilton NZ I new a guy who had a Z he drag raced he said he was considering going skyline (talking circa 1995 here) as the all paw skylines were beating him due to traction but on a rolling start on the road (say while overtaking or being idiots) he said he was always faster

Beaten them where exactly in a fully sik street race?
I concede you have me on the diff gears 4.11 still way shorter than 3.7 but I digress...
look at this another way, fastest NA zed on the drag list runs
a 14.5 quater mile, probably with a shitload of mods, what's a tt do down the quater 13-13.5 is most common driver pending well that's what a mild gtst will do down the strip as well.

    This thread is stupid.

skylines are slow , and yes a stock 33 gtst is about the same speed as a na zed

nah , those times are wrong drastically wrong . why is a 33 4 door a second slower than a 2 door and a 32 gtst half a second quicker than the 33 4 door and im sure a tt zed doesnt run a 15 .
Ive tried to look into this before and its hard to find any credible times for the skylines , its easy for the zed because there was a lot of american magazine reviews when they were new .

15 sec zed time must be z31/mistake

Those times are drastically wrong - An s13 is quicker than an s14??

I've got an old HPI mag at home where they pit a 300zx auto TT vs a manual r33 gtst, and even though they hate the zed, they admit it flogs the r33 in a straight line.

Another wrong list. Sorry, but a standard r32 gtr does NOT run 13 flat.
Where do you keep finding these lists?

    And a 350 would not do 14.2

Related question, how does a 91 AUTO n/A Zx compare to most skylines on the road on average? Not asking for exact info, just a rough guide.

Yes i am enquiring about auto zx's. gimme shit all you like but i have bad co-ordination due to injuries i aquired a while back.

My mates bog stock r32 gtr ( exhaust only, 15 psi ) ran a 12.5, so 13 doesn't seem so inaccurate for a standard one.

My brother in laws TT manual Z ran a 14.5 stock.

If that list above is correct then im happy, according to that my little r32 gtst is quicker than i thought hahaha, i think its wrong though.

Auto Na's are pretty slow unfortunately... Added weight being an auto plus the sloppy gear changes. Definitely recommend a shift-kit tho for some snappy shifts...
