I really would love to go. BUT road car is leaking water and i havent had time to fix it, and track car isnt home yet I am a bit scared I am gona bust something bad on the road car thrashing the shit out of it (turbos are not 100%), and was really trying to get the track car done before racing again. Doubt that will be done by June though. You got a spare passenger seat ?? Maybe between the two of us we could iron out some suspension gremlins on the car?

Jake might be coming in the 180sx, never seen him grip race before, he's usually sideways.. they'll probably kick him off the track if he tries to drift. I've put my annual leave in, just gotta make sure the car is ready. Test fitting some race seats this weekend, if they fit I will have them installed in time for this along with my harness. I was sliding from side to side in the standard seat at sandown so hopefully now I will be stuck in place. Not sure if it will be tuned in time, Bob is busy for the next few weeks, then I have exams... I'm happy to run the standard tune for this though coz it's nice and rich and I won't be anywhere near the speed limiter at winton.
winton trip up i would like to go up just for a day out, and support the zx crew that take there cars around the track. i wont be taking my z out. just wondering if we could go up in a group convoy. we could organise it closer to the date, if this is possible. cheers bigmax
well my diff/cradle are all done , just got to put some bolts in , and that's it .. my valves should be coming soon , then another tune and ,, HERE WE GO . LOL , '
Hmmm I started fixing the road car today. So maybe I will come. Just for everyone's info. You can remove the thermostat rear housing without talking the drivers side head off !! Not much of the engine left though Just have to wait for the injectors to come back from AZ New !!

And working out how the hell to get around the back corners opposite the start/finish straight, I still have no idea where I am going through there.
Its difficult to figure out Pete. What looks like the fastest line in those corners actually isnt at Winton. Took me 2 sessions and the instructor in the car to finally find the RIGHT line around the back 3 corners. The best line funnily enough is off camber in the sweeping left. Drift way out the the right without taking your foot off in third gear. Then wide to the left and around the hairpin. It took nearly 1.2 secs off my lap time getting it right. Takes real guts not to lift at that corner cause it seems so wrong.

Yeah, entering the sweeper after the first two turns is where I ruin it for myself. I started off down shifting to second just before I entered but that was no good, hitting the limiter less than a quarter of the way in and having to shift back up almost straight away was not helpful. Entering it in third helped but the lines I was trying just didn't work. Wide seemed like a good idea at the start but didn't give me any good lines through the last part of the corner, middle of the road seemed OK but I really was not doing it as well as it seemed I could have. Mostly I under did it and really could have gone through it faster though once I over cooked it and came out of the corner with 2 wheels in the dirt. The hairpin after that I am basically OK with, I just tend not to set myself up for it as well as i could due to the issues with the sweeper. I probably won't get out to this day as I still have my idle issue to sort out and would rather pay a few bucks extra for the timing anyway. Still, it's a while off yet and pretty cheap so maybe...
Injectors came back yesterday. I am pulling the timing belt off in the morning. Plenum and all that upper crap are already off. I am going to pull the stud out of the lower plenum so I can remove it without having to pull the cam gears and the backing plates off. Should be fun
