bang for buck sorry guys, for me it was just bang for buck, i wanted 300 at the wheels for under 15k. It was only once i owned the car, i realised all the other good points
looks firstly.. went to test drive one and i was like "zomg so low *squirts in pants*" i bought one 2 weeks later
bahaha, love the netspeak! LMAOnade! yeah, i loved the look, looks classic and timeless, like a Ferrari F40. bought a na, went on a cruise, saw a certain zed from the forum smash an evo (V or VI) and was like "sh*t! they smash evos!" now, i've got heaps of engine fixing fun ahead of me -Kirill
its the big z when i was 10 i saw a zed cruisin down the coast. was instantly in love deviated into soarers at around 14 but i saw the light and returned earnt two grand last summer holidays, put it in the share market sold it for 15 two months ago and bought my baby. its amazing that a car that is near 20 years old still has such amazing appeal plus it gets chicks
Misses saw one at a car yard And liked it, I researched it Found ,aus 300zx.com now we have two of the buggers.:bash: :banned: :zlove:
For me, its the combination of looks and power. I wasn't into the import scene in the slightest. I was actually planning on buying a beat up Kingswood and "mad maxing" it Mate of mine pointed me to an import sight and I started looking at cars. Saw a Zed and fell in love with the looks. Saw the price and couldn't believe it Askeed my mate "yeah but how good are they" Can't remember his exact words but it was something along the lines of "not much on the roads to beat that if you get a TT" It was decided from there... I wanted a Zed. Then....... he got HIS mate (now also mine) to come round with his Zed. First ride blew me away. took over 2 years and the interim ownership of a 180SX before I finally had one. Its just an awsome car. To think...... there you are in a 10 - 15K car, nearly 20 years old, and a Porshe Boxer sides up..... and you can quite confidently think to yourself "yeah.... I could take him" And that leads to what I was after all along..... having a car you dont NEED to prove anything in. You know you'd have a chance against the other guy, so you dont need to prove it to him or yourself. With lesser cars, after mods have been paid for and bolted on, theres a "need" to see if you can now "chop a V8" etc etc I truly dont feel that need in the Zed
here's a little analogy i like to use i compare the stock market to an egg boiling long ago some one put a pot with water and eggs on a stove, but forgot to put it on. then it somehow turned on... its started boiling. i got in just as the boiling was getting violent. then the eggs were taken out a short time after i sold. i sold them late november well before the big crash, but it was headed that way
ah not the same company Was interesting talking to them. They had been tosome seminar and were all talking about the "June-July crash" before it happend. Something to do with some 7 year cycle or some crap? lol
on occasion. But hand on heart, not nearly as much as I did in the 180, as I really dont feel i need to. With the 180 is was about seeing where you were in the food chain
mmmmmmmmmm "this was the recession we had to have" its not really a recession but i would still like to be viewed as politically literate....
The only reason we NEED a recession is so the big people can stop more little people becoming rich. (imho) Actually true story..... The first time I started to understand why interest rates go up was during a game of Monopoly with my wife and kids. It was a stale mate. We were ALL doig really well. A sea of red covered the board as pretty much all properties had hotels on them We were all flush with cash...... and then we noticed..... the bank was out of money
it was that time of the era....the 15yo rule import rush, i was sitting in school wondering....hmmm i better get in to get a sweet deal....took advantage of the situation saying to my parents its very cheap to import and i can make money from it......0 was i sooooo wrong!......many cars to choose from, was very close to getting a GTR R32, which was only slightly more as some GTRz were going for 16 gran....but why the zed: 1. It must also be fast being a twin turbo ....little did little ibbi know GTRz are way quicker 2. In order to keep this trust between me and my parents, as they were very proud with all the high tech stuff in the soarer i found, i had to impress them again....unfortunatly they would think the GTR looks old and has nothing, slightly true....so it was the 300zx to go..... did regret it for a year or so...but after comming on this fourm i have grown to love it....there is so much you can do and its different, sortof track sports car with little luxuries and looks tops....i also like to be exclusive....
I wanted a convertible but was only willing to pay 5k, so I got a z31. Traded that in for a 280zx which I kept for 5 years. When that started getting rusty, I looked at z32's and Soarers and ended up getting a Soarer. Then the convertible z32 popped up, so I got that too as that was exactly what I wanted all along.
i know exactly what you mean.. in my other cars, including my NA zed, i used to race every tom dick and harry, to "prove" that i'm a better driver, etc.. i've only had my zed for 2 weeks, but i have only raced my mate's s14 series II. and that's only because he rushed over to mine as soon as he heard that i have a zed, wanted to prove the mighty "powwa" of the sr20det.. lol! -Kirill
