There was a budget? Lol. After having pulled it apart for the respray. It simply was a matter of just needing parts. So its just the, I want list. Haha.

Thanks mate. Thanks for the reality hit. :( nah. From where it was, to where its going, it should....should....be worth more then it was to start with. At least that's what I'm going with.

I think you're worse. Haha. I've seen you in action.

Sorry Rob. As much as I am a huge fan of Coz, with both of the brand new 4 seater cargo plastics kits I've bought, I've ended up with very black ABS actuator covers to go with very 'grey' surrounding trims. So for this car it was time to experiment with secondhand trims. The original set were just too scratched-up to bother with so with a better set I lightly sanded scratched areas, filled the deeper cracks, cleaned with thinners & then painted with Dupli-Colour Fabric & Vinyl (Dark Grey). The colour match to the more forward trims (ie: inner quarter window trims) is excellent! Time consuming but happy with the result. Also, I'd never seen a Z with the sound deadening tape - initially I thought it was just in the boot but it continues throughout the car - first owner must have complained about road noise I guess :)
Oh, one other thing, if anyone else does this, best to go easy on the sanding of scratches. You're best bet is to trim the raised edges of scratches & then fill the scratches with a flexible filler rather than rely on sanding ;)

    Interior looks great, CARZ.

I installed my painted fog light ducts today. They're not perfect (long story), but they will do for the time being. I will have them colour coded when I have a handful of things that need painting.

So, update. For those whom aren't on the Facebook page.

Anzac Day was a productive day for me. Pictures, pictures, pictures.

Wheeled it into the make shift booth for the real work to begin.

So as you can see the top coat went on. Ill give credit to professional painters that you have to be fit to keep up when spraying and to have concentration and a steady hand. Whilst this isn't my first vehicle respray, or first time toying with paint. I was rather knackered afterwards haha. But the outcome was perfection.

So come Saturday evening, after having gone back to work Friday for a day of hell. I sat down with my girl, Amanda. For a drinky.

Now today, Sunday. We thought we should roll it out of the shed and into the sun. To see really what it looks like.

Remembering, it still needs to be wet sanded, cut and polished. I plan on laying down another two coats of clear after I've wet sand it. Just for definition and paint protection. :D

As you'll see in some photos there is a purple hue throughout the paint. There is a heap of metallic and pearls in the paint. Blue, red and purple from memory. They'll shine heaps more once wet sanded, cut and polished. Plus the old iPhone 4 camera doesn't pick up the tones well.

From here, I'm waiting for some tbo side skirts to come from qld, I picked up some Oem rear mudflaps for accompany the shirts. These will be colour coded. Also awaiting a reply from mmarschall in regards to a f40 style spoiler. The same as tekkys old red zeds spoiler.

    Thanks for looking. :zlove:

Paints looking great, will be excellent once its all wet sanded. I think you'll need a lip on your front bar though once you get the tbo skirts, the front edge of the skirt will be sitting much lower than the oem bar. A stillen lip should fix that though.
Have a look in brackets build thread for a recent side on photo of the skirts with an oem na bar

Thanks for the heads up! I recently bought a set of "better" boot trims and was going to go with an alcantara covering. This looks far more appealing...

Hi. Yeah I'm sorta trying to convince the girl to let me put the stillen lip on but she's not keen on it. Doesn't like the lip bit itself. I however think it looks good. But regardless once the skirts arrive we'll see how it all looks. Still plenty of other kit bits to rock up so no rush to put it all on. I didn't spend hours stripping and prepping the lower sill and door to put skirts on ASAP. See how it looks once complete.

Have some tein lower springs to go in on the agx's too so it will look better all round.
