Modified my door handles some more to make room for the fresh paint to be laid down. To stop the handle rubbing the housing. All sweet. Just have to prep them, prime and final sand them. Then wet sand them along with the door outer skins and rear body panels. Then apply the new base coat. Perhaps this weekend.

Here we have the reassembled door handle. I got impatient and wanted to see how good of a paint job I did. So I wet sanded, cut and then polished the lever. The housing remains as it was off the gun. Rather happy with my efforts today :)

And this is where I've left it up until next weekend. It's safe again now under its bloody expensive car cover, tucked away from the elements.

    Thumbs covering the sun ;)

    Things to note. [rant]

Photobucket, why do you have to go fiddle with the settings again, when you finally had if running right, you've ballsed It up again.
iPad, you suck for trying to operate with photobucket.

Forgetting about the nose panel, as its been buried under all the other removed parts. Now have to remove badge/hardware. Sand, prime, sand, prime and wet sand it for paint...this shit never ends.

that front bar looks ****ing fantastic.

what bodywork experience do you have?

    Legitimately, none.

But truth has it I've had years of experience working with my uncle when I was younger. He was a professional house/business/Etc painter. I used to work for him on my holidays and weekends. So I've had many many many hours of practice in prep work and understanding the different techniques and so on to obtain a good finish. From there the actual application of paint, and moreso on vehicles etc, has been self taught. Applying house paint with a brush and roller are vastly different to a spray gun. I rarely touched a spray gun when I was working for him. So yeah, mostly self taught.

As for the bar, its somewhere between 20-25 hours of work that went into it. Was stone chipped to fk and needed to be stripped right back to urethane. Without using paint stripper or anything. The lower section I was planning on reapplying stone guard to, but I cbf. As if I can talk the missus into it, ill attach a stillen lip or something to it. So the small bits I wasn't particular on (torn urethane fixes) will be covered over with the lip. The biggest task was smoothing of that top bead across the width of the bar. Lots of work in that, but should look good. And pay for its own. :)

got my key cut and confirmed a long myth (hatch lock same as ignition)

got everything torqued up. started it with just the dumps on and made sure my c4 was all fine and dandy.

changes extremely fast, as soon as i push the ratchet. :br:

then proceeded to piss the neighours off by testing the brake stall on my converter with just dumps [TIS]
