speaking of fast 240s, at the nationals a guy by the name of Allan Fielding drove a NATURALLY ASPIRATED 240z with triple webbers, which was leading the track times all day, and was only pipped by JP near the end of the day.

Back home and problems fixed.(pics too)

Just got home tonight after a few days in Geelong and a stopover at Lakes Entrance and then a drive up the east coast for something different. Wow what a great few days at Phillip Island with fantastic company too. Unfortunatly I had some bad luck on Saturday for the Track day which meant I only ran 3 laps and was still learning the track and getting up to speed. Big thanks to all the Guys who helped to try and get me back out on the track, your help was much appreciated, Ports, Wiz, Caz and others.

    Anyway, onto the pics.

Arriving at Suttons Forest just out of Sydney on the Thursday Morning for the Cruise to Phillip Island.

Me waiting for my ill fated 2nd run. I had a bad missfire and zero boost as I came onto the straight for the first lap and pulled off into the pits.

    Trying to fix the problems.

I wasnt the only one to have problems as Fleet ran low on fuel with 2 sessions still left to run and made a last minute dash to the servo 6kms away. Unfortunanely he didnt make it that far but at least it makes for a great pic and a good story.:D

Later in the day when it was time to leave my zed mysteriously started to boost to 17psi as normal but still had a missfire and hesitation. On the Tuesday Morning I stopped off at the Z shop in Melbourne on my way home.

This is what we found after pulling the number 6 plug out.

We also found a split vacumn hose going to the boost controller which posibly caused the boost to run higher than normal and cause detonation and the failed number 6 plug. It may also be possible that the piece of the plug that came off caused the turbo to jam and not boost. After seeing this we performed a compression check but thankfully it came back pretty good with 145 in no 6 and 145-150 in all other cylinders. With new plugs and the boost hose replaced the zed now seems to be running fine so hopefully no damage done luckily.

was a good weekend lots of adrenalin on saturday i did a good time but thought i could have done beta 2.06.83 with stock brakes and slotted rotors not too bad got abit hairy after a few laps the brakes didnt pull up quiet as well and i really wanted to crack 200km/hr down the straight got close about 190-195 not sure using stock speedo mmm finishes at 190 oh well. congrats to all others on the track who did some great times. i did sneak in a few laps of video footage also before they banned the cameras too :D ill post in the near future.

was good to also put some faces to names, what a pisshead bigbaz is gee he was a bad influence on me :D or was it the other way round lol, lots of late nites were had in our camp.

cant wait till 2009 at warick mmm nice and close might have to get a few practice runs out there within the next 2 years.

after finally gettin home this arvo i have to say i am so glad to get out of the zed first time ive said that but after clocking up around 5000kms for the week i was glad to get out :zlove:

    Speed, 260kph

I like that one to Graham, but then i'm biased.
JT worked JP's slot cars gearing out to be close to 260kph down the straight, so turning into the first corner a bit quicker that 160kph, so not surprised at missing a little bit of the car, great pics regardless.

That's a relief JT, I'm glad that you had the problem solved.

I too had a glance at the speedo nearing the first "2 line marker" and saw 245km,
only to miss my brake point and the apex and got way out off shape for turn two.
But how good is the final turn when you floor it in 4th and get pushed out towards
the rumble strip at max revs and punch 5th, way better than Eastern creek turn 1.

    Lucky JT

Unlucky did not get much track time in fact the least of all I think? Lucky engine is still ther and comp with what happened. That bit that broke off said hellow to a few engine parts and exhaust wheel on the way out unless it is still buried in the alloy dome part of the head still?

    Probably burns

The end off a little at a time JT, so no big piece floating around in there
still lucky not to have done more damage done.
only Big baz and Caz to come home now, Caz was leaving PI today for Adelaide and the Drifts on the weekend.
spoke to her this morning and the car is still not running the best, she hopes it gets her there and back, keep an eye out for her you SA guys.

    Well done Q Boys

Huge effort to drive your Zeds down to PI, race them and then drive them back, those truck ravaged roads are not too kind to a sports suspension car either.

We old schoolers trailered the Zeds down and back via the Newell, no real problems, passing B doubles can get interesting though.

Still have my pictures/videos waiting to be uploaded, had a busy week at work and sorting through 7GB of it takes a while! Cut my photos down to 194, plus the video. Need to go through a few more times to cull some more...

    I'M BACK

Made it home about an hour or 2 ago, about a 9 hour trip from the city in melbourne to my place in sydney, have only got a couple of pics and videos of the weekend, i have a great one of Fleet on Sat night.
Fleet and Blipman must have been full of adrenaline from the track that night, either that or it was the copius amounts of booze, was really happy with how good the accomodation turned out to be, the dirt roads were not too bad, and it as not too cramped, you could have your own space if needed or you could be with everyone, was really good to meet a whole bunch of interstate zedders and put faces to forum aliases, the sound of all those zeds kicking arse at the track was awesome, well done to JP and CAZ for winning there class, i didnt make it to the show and shine, i was a little bit worse for wear that morning, i think AZA was a bad influence on me, lol, the trip there and back was really good with cops, had no issues except the RBT at 10am on the way down, i didnt get pulled in but a few of the others did.

Also noticed on the way back the complete difference in driving culture before wodonga i cruised at the speed limit and was passing everyone, within 20km after wodonga, i may have been going 5-10 over and was being passed by people, it was obviously different sydney to melbourne, but didnt think the difference would be so sudden ie noticably different within 20km of wodonga.

Big thanks to Doug for getting there early, picking up the keys, organising food, cooking the food and everything, big thanks to caz for being able to survive a week in a house with me and not complain once

A few quotes from the week

"Beer hooves totally work" - Blipman
"Where are my car keys" - Caz
"I cant believe i ran out of fuel, at queensland raceway i would have been fine" - Fleet

Im suer there a few more funny ones but cant think of them right now it has been a long day

Im back too! What an fantastic 12 days my Zed and I have had :D :D. 4,300klm and besides the odd idle drop issue she hasn't missed a beat.

Phillip Island Racetrack was soooo much fun...I kept thinking of other mums doing canteen duty ect and just felt incredibly lucky :p.

The week living with Byron and Jeremy was tops! (but Im sure they kept hidng my car keys  )
Meeting some of the Vic zedders for the first time and catching up with friends was so much fun.

From Phillip Island I drove to Adelaide(since it was just up the road ;) ) for round 2 of the DA TOYO Drift Championships at Mallala Raceway.

We were garaged with none other than Danny Vahoumas!  :D Very cool indeed..

Unfortunately Saturday morning our driver suddenly became ill and was carted off in to hospital in an Ambulance. Being the 'mum' I went with him and spent the day/night with him till his parents arrived.

Sunday was good :p , Scotts dad took the Drift Zed Sunday morning as he was now towing it back to Sydney, so that left us with my Zed to continue the sponsors promo work with.. she looked very plain compared to the bright drift cars... BUT
    [IMG]

    as the crowd wandered in...

It was the Z that had the crowds interest :zlove: :zlove:

Thanks to James007 and the guys that came out to the track, your help was much appreciated :)

I didnt get to see much drifting but what I did see was awesome! Robbie took the win, that Monaro of his is superb, but next round he will have the VE which he tells me is 70% better than the Monaro  ....Im not sure how thats possible! LOL

I visited Nick and Barry at Adelaide Z cars before I left SA. What lovely guys and a great business they have going down there. True enthusiests, a wealth of knowledge and pride in their work, perfect combo :zlove: :zlove:

The drive home across the Hay Plains was just brilliant fun thanks to very few cars and the truckies 'help' ;) I have never seen roads like that before... Zed heaven :zlove:

Me in the DriftZ getting her ready to go home...any excuse to get my bum in the drivers seat :p
    [IMG] [IMG]

My apologies for not having internet for the past 10 days, I will be working through the emails, orders and PMs today :)

    Caz.. :)
