"High Five" Was good to meet you Pete. Even better to get absolutely, beyond a shadow of a doubt, smashed on Sat night with all the interstate crew. There were a few sad and sorry faces during the concourse Sunday morning. P.s Has anyone seen beer hooves before.
Looks like Cracking Day. I wonder if one of the old schoolers was our mate Len from NSW. 70 year old guy we met and the Nurburg Ring Last summer on the 300zx.co.uk Zrun
Well, Craig and I are back..thought we would come back early, only took just over 3 hours to come home, and just over 4 hours to go there?!??...yes im still puzzled with that one.. Had a great time, would just like to thank Byron for organising the accomodation and Doug for cooking all the food ..But all im saying is, I don't think I can eat any more snags for a while lol... Was great to actually meet some of the interstate people ...and im finally starting to remember names Will post some pics up later tomorrow...gotta sort through the thousand odd photos lol..
Who else is going to join NDSOC after this ??? I sent my dues off today. I am pretty upset I didnt get to track my car. It looked so much fun, I really wanted in. They have a lot of sprint and other events every year. I wanna be a part of that. Waiting till the next nationals is not an option.
NDSOC ? What is this club about exactly? Also there is talk on SAU about a big Nissan track weekend Sat practice and Sunday race 95db limit on weekend of 24th November at P I. WE can't wait until 2013 for next Dat Nats at the Island. Not expensive either other than getting there and fuel Pete? Who would be in this? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=145675&st=40&gopid=3040980&#entry3040980
I'm Home Safe and sound, just got in after taking the scenic route back, around the bay, down to Sorrento/Portsea, caught the ferry accross to Queenscliff, up to Geelong, stopped at Albury overnight. Can only echo what everyones thoughts, what a fantastic weekend, traveling down in convoy with the NSW/QLD/ACT,gang, catching up with the VIC crew, meeting new faces, always good. what great weather they turned on for us , got sunburnt everyday, BBQ's were great, thanks to Aus300 and Dougy the cook. Show N shine, great setting along the beach front , with some great cars on show , congrats to the trophy winners. The track, how good was that? so fast, flat out in third onto the straight, into 4th, into 5th for so long down the straight, don't know how fast i was going, no time to look at gauges, don't want to miss a braking marker at that speed, just know it was quick. Rest of the track just flowed at high speed, is that what these cars were built for or what? Happy with my 2.03.5 lap with the short time i had on the track, would have been quicker with more laps under the belt. Oil leak prob put paid to any more fun, not unexpected in the rush to get it ready What about Caz , she rocks. What about the slot car, dose it kick arse. would like to go back with a fully sorted car. bring on the next one
Next Phillip Island I just emailed the Sprint Secretary of Phillip Island to enquire about Sprint days and how we can work in. I know I have some EVO and 200SX customers that would love to come done for a Phillip Island event with other serious road and race cars if it was on as well, as a bunch of GTR's and Zeds. Will let everyone know what options or answer I get. Thanks for pushing me to go Ron. Fleet if it makes you feel any better we ran out of fuel in the late night, just made Holbrook and had to walk and run to find fuel station found out it was about 2 or 3 k's so pumped fuel out of race car and not much left but made it. Hit an owl and took out grill and badge I just replaced after bumping into a car in traffic a few weeks back. Put up with some in the room we were sleeping in at Phillip Island snoring and one talking or shouting in his sleep, freezing cold as heater did not work and not enough blankets, bla bla. All worth it to feel the G's at that awesome track. I reckon I could have walked home if not ran. Adrenalin and endorphins could be bottled. How did you go fitting that big trophy of mine??
But then we wouldn't have them great pics Tekkie. Next time eh. Going to have to charge you freight JP for bringing those trophys home. was trying to lighten the load not make it heavier.
by the way for those interested in the speeds we were doing, I actually was able to glance at my speedo at various points around the track. at the end of start finish straight I was topping out 5th gear at 7000rpm doing 250 km/h through the fast sweepers I was 4 wheel drifting at around 180 km/h, bloody scary stuff! thanks Dougy for providing us with great bbq tucker!
as usual Wiz was awesome hanging out with you, Wayne (you're such a funny bugger!!), JP, OZ300 and JT. I just wish it wasnt such a long drive for us Queenslanders to get to PI, otherwise I'd be there with bells on at every opportunity! "Fuel makes the car go"
Wow that is amazing speed. Mind you it's not all the car - you are an excellent pilot as well. It was awesome to finally meet all you interstaters!
Nissan Datsun Sports Owners Club! Great bunch, we went on the Tassie Targa Tours with these folks. Big into their motorsport and club events. Chat to their club president Matt Freeman, John, he is a top guy and may help you sort something with them at PI. Would definately join them if I lived in Vic, without a doubt. They also have some wickedly fast older cars to. Ie 240z with 350 Chev Nascar engine, full cage, simmons etc etc. MattB
