What a massive turnout!!! Does any1 have official numbers? I tried to count, but ran out of fingers, toes and other appendages.

Thanks to Big Col for organising this wonderful event, and to everyone that showed up. I met quite a few new people.

You guys have my insomnia to thank for these piping hot out of the photoshop oven pics.

The Temperature on the day was nice for cruising, got a little cold in some bits, and slightly wet as well :( But mostly fine weather especially closer to home. It would have been nice to see everyone with their Targa's off (cept for the hardtops obviously)

Next time I come on a cruise like this, I'll have to take a friend/photographer. There were so many shots that i wanted to take as I was driving. You'll notice I didn't take any photo's on actual GOR, too busy driving!! Awesome scenery and the Fleet of Zeds were just so colourful. For a group of people that own the same car, I don't think there are 2 alike!

Leaving Melbourne via the Westgate, (first pic of the day, and was a bit blurry)
[IMG] This is me leading 4-5 Black Zeds to Apollo Bay
    [IMG]
    Two very nice White Zeds
    [IMG]
NYTFYR topless on the beach :)
Lotsa Zed booty, or Towel Rack Display.
4 Zeds by the sea, Got a better angle thanks to a generous tree
    [IMG]
Attracted alot of attention at Apollo Bay, The police drove by a couple of times, Plenty of cyclists came by.
A very clean white Zed, who owns this by the way? And Russ what were you pointing at? (Hope you don't mind but I photoshopped you and your girfriend out) 10 points for guessing where he was.
Everyone pulled over just after leaving Apollo Bay. I got greedy and wanted to take a pic from the front of the line, This was a rushed shot, I really wanted to try and get every single car in the pic. In hindsight I should've just taken the pic with my car in front :) I had to run back to my car so I didn't hold every1 up as we were leaving.
Has any1 got any of these kinda pics, the whole frame packed tight with Zeds around a bend? I tried a few times to capture this but this was the best I could do.

    Excellent cruise

I've got a few pics that came out ok, so i'll throw some up when i get home tonight. I was one of the few that took the targa's off for the GOR and got seriously sunburned on the old bald head for my efforts :) Was a great day though.

The 30 tourists parked on the side of the road photographing Koala's on the way back was a bit hair raising for some that came round the corner into the back of a stopped line of cars :)

I saw a lot of cameras and video cameras out so there should be a lot of pics and a lot of footage to come!

I counted 31/32 cars at Torquay, making it a pretty impressive turnout.

    Some Pics

Yep, was an awesome day..:) Thanks to BigCol again for organising..:) Lots of new faces to mingle in with the old timers. Sorry I didnt get to talk to everyone, but there were just heaps of folks. Anyway, here are some pics I took on the day. Please be aware, to view the pics, just accept any prompts or alerts that may pop up in regards to Monash security certificates:

ZXTT-1's (Jack) car alarm. After 5 years of seeing me, he still snarls at me.

Trying to keep everyone together while passing through geelong was difficult. We had a few meet points along the way to try and get all 30+ zeds together. Nightmare.

Finally out on the open road.....

We stopped at Point danger in Torquay to meet some other zedders. Good time to stretch the legs and take some photo.

I too have been bitten by the Fleet bug. Thanks again Pete, awesome gauges. My only gripe is that they are hard to see at night, but I aim to fix that with some very bright LED's instead of the light bulb that they provide.

They're my pics so im allowed to show off my car.

After a loooooooooong drive through the twisties (which was heaps of fun) we got to Apollo Bay. We didnt stop in Lorne this year as parking was just not possible. Maybe I'm getting old, who knows, but driving from Torquay straight to Apollo Bay was tiring.... Maybe cos I was hungry as well...:)

I'm jealous. Ben is the only forum member I know of that has been able to pat Sam (jacks car alarm). He still growls though while being patted....:)

Last stop, was Lavers Hill, about a 25 minute drive from Apollo Bay. But it was a very brief stop once we got there, mainly because the weather took a turn for the worse at this point. Cold, windy and just generally unpleasant. I think we were there for a whole of 5 minutes before everyone said there good bye's and headed home. Most of the zeds stayed together for the trip home, but everyone eventually splinted off into little groups and went there own way...

Anyway, top stuff. Cant wait for the next one..:)

Oh by the way, I still have a CB radio in my car? is that yours pete?

    Cheers

    Great Day, Great Z's!

Nice to meet everyone. So many people, didnt get a chance to say hi to all of you. Thankyou Col for organising a great cruise. Never seen so many Zeds in one place at one time. Would have been a site to behold, driving the other way!

I got a few nice pics myself which I will post tonight when I get home. I counted 35 Zeds at Apollo Bay at which point we decided to head back home. It was very cloudy down that way, but suprisingly the heavens never opened :D Nightfalltech, I think you and me were the only ones with the targas off !! I had them off from the start but had an emergency pull over when it started to rain just as we left Melbourne! Didn't lose anyone though :zlove:

There were a few of us along the Great Ocean Road to Apollo Bay that had a nice 'spirited' drive. Zed was loving the cool air also :D

Look forward to seeing everyones photos & videos!

I spent the weekend throwing my Zed back together so I could take her for a run down the GOR and I wasnt dissapointed. What an awesome drive.
There was a few new faces but Im pretty pleased with my myself to be able to say I knew at least 80% by first name. Those I didnt get a chance to speak to Ill catch up with at the Tech Day

The family came with me so for the 1st time the 2+2 was using all the seats, baby seat included :)

Meeting in the morning Todd Road service Station Westgate Bridge in the back ground

Up the road on the way to Torquay I got a nice view of Alex's (BADXTC) ass the whole way

Spencer (4) was loving the first 20km but was pretty green by the time we got to the Lunch stop

    Heres a small vid

The trouble with only driving your car every 4 months is that you never know whats gonna go wrong. When I got to Apolo Bay my battery was giving me issues and thought I was going to get stuck, Doug helped me out there, and Pete did a quick Conzult check, thanks guys.

On the way home something else starting giving me grief, my SAFC started beeping at me when I was boosting and was killing my power, havent had a chance to figure that one out yet. Maybe something for the Tech Day.

    Cheers

    Stu

an absolutely great day of driving. i've got some pics that i'll post up tonight. it was a real sight with a 30+ zed convoy going around the twisty bits.

too bad about some of the selfish people that refused to pull over to let us all through. one that really annoyed me was a green honda CRV. she ignored a few of us for 30 kays or more before finally pulling over. there were signs that said 'CONSIDER OTHERS BEHIND' but she just ignored all of them

zealous and bion1c got pulled over by cops on the final leg. he must have been really bored to pull them over out of 30 other zeds and give them a bretho. gotta thank you guys though, i found myself at the front of the queue after pulling over to wait for you guys and had the honor or leading the pack on the last leg. absolutely amazing experience.

  16. red32

    red32 You talkin' to me?

No probs, Rik. I really wanted to go on this trip as it looked like being a biggie... it was... but no way was I going to drive that far after a night-shift. So tired on the way home, I was seeing double at one stage.

Refilled with petrol this morning... 53L for 530+km (10L/100km) Jeez, you drive like a Granny! Nah!, I seem to remember you having a bit of fun through the twisty bits, totally different sensation from the pax seat, though.

    Great cruise, Col!

Yeah, I also feel sorry for the people that have to give way to us. It's like... I'll let this one Zed through... and the one after that, after that one.... after this one.... They're probably sitting at the intersection for like 5 mins :D

The traffic in Geelong on the way back got us plenty of looks.

I had my roof off from Torquay to Lavers Hill, and it started raining about 5 mins before we got there, None of the rain came into the cabin though, just hit the windscreen. But when we got into town and were travelling slowly, the rain started to come in. But thankfully it was just spitting. I pulled into the first parking spot (or two) and put the roof back on.

BEST drive i have ever been on...was well worth it...wen i left my home in s.e.suburbs i filled her up full tank...and today i have just checkt how many kms i did and it says 541kms....thats gotta bring a smile :D :D

damm the twisties were awsome, some very very very sharp turns on that hehe, but not once did i loose traction or skip a beat...blipman i loved the way you handled the road though, i was actually taking advantage or the 2 lanes when i could, but you actually kept within the one lane all timeesss and boy were we giving the cars a good run...

    i think i counted 35 zeds aswell...

i think the only thing missing was a bbq for lunch hehe....

all in all best drive i have ever been on, and to have 20~ zeds infront and 15~ behind was an absolute awsome feeling thru the twisites...:D :D

simon i agree, i seriosuly fkn thought someone had died or soemthing very tragic had happened when those fkerz were looking at some koalas :( :( :( pissed me off baddd, coz we all broke like no tomorow to a complete stop...
