LILYDALE - REEFTON heres one we are doing shortly,this is a great twisties cruise through the yarra ranges (u can even play spot the cammo cop in the black spur) , it will even be in the daytime for all the people afraid of the dark lol
good one simon looks good simon at least its in our back yard for us easteners.. have done the trip many times solo. so should be good to have a few zeds in toe for the trip. hope you get good support from everyone, if not i will get on there case. what else would you expect from me. lol regards bigmax :zlove:
Looks like a good run, I have never actually done the Marysville-Reefton part of that run, something I should rectify.
Welcome Slingshot, yeah the GOR wouldn't have the same feel if we did it 12 times a year. The idea of a cruise once a month does sound tempting though. That route looks unreal Simon looks like it would be a lot of fun, count me in. On the note of this cruise how many people object to having it 31st of May? I am just throwing ideas, since I haven't seen much reply to when people would want to do it, unless they want to do it later?
John (Cletus) took us over this route a couple of years ago! Brilliant run. We liked it so much we went back and did it again from the opposite direction a couple of weeks later. Reefton to Cambarville is unreal (just look out for the oncoming motorcyclists heads as you go round left-handers... they stick out into our lane). It's one of those sort of roads where you leave it in second (auto)... sounds great but slow enough to be reasonably safe! Only potential problem would be if it was wet . . . then it would be as boring as an old hens' tit! Also has a heavy Plod presense, so sticking to the advised speed limit is essential, but still exciting!!
As I said I'm happy for whatever dates..as long as it's sunny..but being the 31st of May..it's gonna start getting wet and damp (last year it started getting real cold in May)..I'm just concerned about dew on the roads and stuff..
i want in i want in this run - dont mind where but i just wanna meet you all - just got my Z but havent got my licence - getting it very soon though - getting it in june - so i was wondering if it could b could we make the gor cruse later plz?? if it cant be done ill see wah can be done but i really would like to go..
Just a question to all members, who would enjoy it if I could kick everyone out of a pub in Ballarat during the cruise, so we can all have our own place for a while. It will probably just be for an hour, so we can all grab lunch (pub meals) or something, and have some place to meet up. I know the guy who owns the pub, so give me a yell and tell me what you think, the other idea is having lunch at Lake Wendouree. So let me know what you all think, and I will organize it from there and see what I can do for us .

Haha we can take them, cars can run over bikes pretty good, (the pubs actually owned by the biker boys ) Only problem is we will probably get to the pub at about 11:30 or so, so that will be probably too early for lunch... and if we plan on getting to Bendigo and back to Melbourne, we will probably be looking at 7.5 hours of driving, with stops probably close to 11 or so... I mean I am cool with it, even though I will have to drive form Geelong in the morning and back in the night. I don't mind the time, just some other members might not like that long of a cruise, I can cut out some areas if wished.

Ok, I went down to Ballarat the other day, and went up to Mt.Bunniyong to see if its ZX worthy, the road is a little run down, and will only fit us in a single line, as for the look out point, it will be a great view of Ballarat and such, but not our cars (unless we can borrow someones chainsaw.) So I am not sure if people want to do the drive up there, we could just stop in Ballarat untill about 12 or so, have some breakfast, and something. I would say play some pool, but I don't know who would be up for pool at 11 AM?
