well engine is out of the car at the moment. so i cant bring it anywhere.. its in my garage in nollamara
I AM VERY INTERESTED in getting some panels resprayed (could do a colour change too) but i will have a full kit coming soon so id need that sprayed etc etc. what would be the waiting time for a spray? also would be very keen on a bonnet... would it be cheaper to install some vents in a stock metal bonnet? (my insurance wont touch CF or fiberglass panels )
this was the last car i painted.. was a full colour change.. so yes i know the work involved.. didnt do the engine bay on this one gf at the time, she rear ended me(women drivers.. my escort barely had a scratch), all the front was smashed in.. i fixed it and changed the colour for her birthday.. took a few months off and on the weekends was about the 4th car ive painted.. funny thing is ive never done one for myself
we can easierly do your kit for ya... or mod it with some fibre fenders hehe we can mod your bonnet so its still metal but put fibre vents in.. so unless you take the backing off it looks like metal.. but its a bugger to work with, you can do so much more with fibre aye.. well.. when do you want it done? we can start pretty soon, we work after hours as a hobby so can't take too many orders at once as you can imagine but 1st in best dressed really..
yeah and zeds are a paint to get the motor out and back in for full sprays like that... but im sure we can work something out... we would prefer to do just resprays of the same colour but yeah we'll see... maybe its time you treat yourself aye...
i was hoping for a colour change... for those that know, what is involved in a colour change? does it look weird if you don't do the engine bay? is it necessary to pull engine out? how much other extra work is it? do doors have to come off?
see with just a respray its like 2 days work if that.. it means wet and dry your body to take the clear coat off then paint.. it you miss stuff with the undercoat it doesnt matter it wont show.. same colour.. if you miss spots with a yellow to black it is obvious.. youll take everthing off th at you can.. doors boot, bonet, fenders, engine think of the hardest place in ur engine that has paint on it and try and reach it with your hard.. its near impossible.. now reach it with a spray gun... think of it like that you dont have to paint it.. if the cars black some times it looks goo that way.. but all the door jams, hindges they allg et painted.. so yeah.. it is alot more, and its mainly in the engine removal
thats a good point... we might be able to transport it to us then back again if you like and paint it while all your gear is still out if you strip it and reassemble it yourself
indeed it does yeah we shall try and work out the best for both of us but we do have a truck that can transport cars to and from the shed for a price but when we are talking about that sort of work we def. need to sit down over some drinks and sus it out.
all these reasons are adding up to do a turbo upgrade and now even the paint wants an engine pull... resistance seems futile...
before we waste any of our time.. i want a very basic estimate of full colour change and some minor panel beating.. ill take some photos and we can go from there see i need to source a body kit before any of this happens..
Well My Z has just been OWNED by some mugs, KICKED the door in Quite a few times, and rear quater pannel, damged front bar, cars looking a bit sad :/ un prevoked attack. So I am in need of some work. The car once use to be HOT now its a pile of shit. In its former glory. I dont want to post pics of it now its shocking. :/ So Id be up for a full re-spray same color but just fix every thing.
