L and R should always be determined by sitting in the car or by looking at the marks above the lights on the radiator support. Right is driver side.

r33k is right, they should be mounted so that the veins curve backwards on the top of the rotor because the air is pulled into the rotor as you drive.

    this is the correct way

Look at my 9.30pm thread and you will see my photo is the correct way to put them on,the photo in this message is the right way if it is a rda slotted and that comes from rda themselves as caz spoke to them this morning
this photo is of the rear passenger side and if yours dont look like this, then u are not getting maximum useage from your brakes. All veins should be sweeping toward the back of the car !!!!!!!!:D :D :D

I can't see the top of your rotor to see if it is correct or not, the grooves have nothing to do with the way it mounts from what I just read.

    yep

its the orientation of the veins inside the disk that draws air in the centre of the rotor and expell outwards.

    (so i have read)

    i see what u mean

i get what u mean,so does anyone have an rda off to look ,or i may go and take one off now and have a look,im wondering if the inside veins go the same way as the slots on the outside of the rotor or are they opposite i wonder ??

I have a nice stack of DBA4000's, but no RDA's to look at here at the moment. My poor RDA Rep is in hospital :( so I wont get my stock till next week now..

As some people have already stated, the direction of the slots is not important. The direction of the internal vanes of the rotor are, they should pull air from the centre of the rotor and expel it outwards, see link.

    Nice info there JT.

    quote from the stoptech website...

"The direction of the slots or hole pattern should not be used to determine what side of the vehicle to place a rotor. Different manufacturers may have different strategies for slot and hole patterns.

The only correct way to determine what side a directional rotor goes on is the internal vane direction."

This should end this discussion :D
