I use Sard 650's, am very happy (so far)......

I like the "twin spray" concept, it has to be better for fuel atomization (especially in a larger injector)

20 sets ???? ouch, that's a lot of injectors. Good luck

I'm very interested in these Graham.
I wanted to fit 555's at first, can you get these?
If so , can you give me a price?
My engine rebuild needs to be finished in 5 weeks,
will these sards be available by then?
Will you have the collars completed within this time frame?
    thanks very much Graham.

Plenty big enough!! 650's are the right size for 90% of the applications using Rs's and R's

If you go too big your resolution at the bottom end suffers and you can have idle issues as the metered amount of fuel is so small compared to the full measure.

    Someone recommended 740cc to me

Someone recommended 740cc to me. Mine will be for Drifting so low down doesn't affect me to much. I just don't want to run out up high as that's where the engine will be revving most of the time.

I have the 28r upgrade, so if you think the 650 will be big enough I want a set as well.

I need them ready to rock & roll, so if they need resistors etc I will need them as well.

How long before you can get them as I don't have much time?

    Cheers

Greenline told me that they only have a few in stock and that the balance would be the end of June.

Seems that may screw up a few people. :(

I needed time to get the collars made in any case. I havent even got the sample yet.

If Negun have them for $710 delivered sounds pretty good.

Till I get a firm price on the collars its hard to say how much they will be. I doubt it will be anywhere near $20 each. whihc is still a fraction of the Sard price.

Basically guys if this is outside your time frame there is not a lot I can do.

All I can suggest is you order you injectors from Nengun and I will have the collars finshed ASAP.

It will take a fair while to organize a GB for this many injectors.

    Comments anyone?

Resistors are the least of our worries. I can organize them in a few days.

I'm in no rush, and would probably prefer later rather than sooner.

I think it maybe hard to get 20 people as not everyone knows this site is operational. Either way i need a set

as long as they fit up to oem fuel rail, ill be in for a set of 800cc injectors,

ok ppl to work out what kind of injector you will need this is the simplest formula in the world

since im the king at maths (surveyor is my day job),

you want to work out the HP per injectors

so for 555cc for example, just divide the figure by 5, so a 555cc will make 110hp per injector multiply by the number of cylinders (6 in our case) you would have 660hp (this is engine HP)
650cc will make 130 hp per injector
740cc will make 140hp per injector

please note this is a rough calculation,

  16. minivan

    minivan Guinea Pig Test Monkey

Injector Flow Rate (cc/min) = (Engine HP x BSFC x 10.5) / (Number of Injectors x Injector duty cycle)

now brake specific fuel consumption should be measured.. no idea what it is on our engine.. rule of thumb somehwre between .6 and .7 for forced induction engines

and injector duty cycle is the maximum injector duty cycle you wish to run.. i suggest .8 (80%)

however.. these figures dont seem to match up with our from HP figures that people quote for stock 370cc injectors, this would suggest a lower BSFC than generalisation permits.. eg, scottie pulls 350rwhp from stockies @ around 90%.. 650s should be good for 600rwhp

as i said above its a rough guide

370cc would max out 444 engine hp

My engine is producing 503fwhp using stock 370cc injectors. They have not "maxed-out" to date.

  19. ports

    ports the pro

My engine was making 270rwkw on stock injectors,
with an aggressive fuel map you can get near to 300 @ the wheels.

have to agree with chili here

I ran 270rwkw with nitrous and the injectors were fine.

I would imagine 555's would be good, and if people were maxing them out at 300rwkw, something isn't right there unless they flow less than stock somehow.

There is a good write up on BSFC in tt.net if you search there you will find some good info on injectors. But according to real life situations, stock flow quite well.
