thanks for all the positives guys 'n gals ... but, in reality, it was just my way of repaying some of the unbelievable and much appreciated assistance extended to me, by forum members, over the past two years.. .. and i am really happy that the end play turned out well for tom .. we did have doubts, at times, whether it could be achieved .. been smiling all day ... lol..
Firstly GongratZ to both you and Black Baz I will suggest the following:- For future interstate Ebay purchases for our forum members, where the buyer feels the seller is non-genuine, that a request is put forth for a local (trustworthy) forum member inspect, and/or collect the items directly from the seller after receiving payment from the "buying" forum member. The local member can then post the item to the intended buyer. Some f*cking around but at least the buyer can have some confidence that the product will arrive. I would happily inspect and collect anything on offer for other members, I am all over Brisbane at least 3 days per week. I am sure other members would be willing to help out too! Just my 2 cents.
yeh no doubt, in WA i'd be happy to do the same, as long as its reasonable, sure there's plenty of other WA boys who'd be happy to check out bits n pieces for other ppl as well. cheers Jay
Playing devils advocate here.. What if the Buyer and the Inspector have differring opinions on the quality of a product. The buyer could then resent the inspector for OKing a poor product.. I wouldnt like to put anyone in that position. Cheers Stu
Amazing I have been around the car forum scene for a number of years and I have never seen anything like this. The way you guys look out for and respect each other is absloutely amazing.
Good point That is why I said trustworthy, and particularly as people do know other interstate members and have respect for eachothers knowledge and aptitude for such tasks. As an example, if K-Zed or Zed4life gave a good report on a product, it would be gospel for me. I am sure that any longstanding and Zed-aware member would be ultra critical on any inspection, most of us have digital cameras too. Anyway, just a thought on my part, and always willing to help out another member(s).
