Quite the wordsmith Col, Wordsmith/ wurdsmith/n. a skilled user or maker of words. That put a smile on my dial, thanks.
Lol Karl Hey iv'e got the mudgaurd protectors on. Plenty of rags under the bonnet protecting it, probably the safest place for it in a busy shop with lots of traffic. I promise it will get a good polish when it's out of there.
Better update your sig details soon to 550rwhp and 10.5 WSID.....I'll deffinatley be there to watch Ron. :zlove::br::br:
I wish Matt If i can get a low 11, i'll be more than happy, Jp could only get an 10.7 in the slot car when it was set for the drags. Still have the air con fitted and all the other nicetys so it's carrying a lot of dead weight that would make it go quicker if it was removed.
lol, Mikey .. you are a stirrer .... !!!! also of interest would be "dollars spent V results" comparison ....???
Fired her up Today, finaly got a day off from work so got stuck in and finished it off . Couple of small dramas, stripped the thread on the altenator adjustment locking bolt, so will have to chase one of those down, and a very slight weep of coolant on one of the turbo coolant pipes, not sure if its a hose or the fitting, will get it back up on the hoist tomorrow have a look and fix it up. Sounds okay, slight rattle in one of the lifters, expect that to come good once the oil gets through them. Didn't run it long, just making sure oil pressure and fluid levels were all good. will give it a shake down tomorrow, give it a bath (needs one bad) and bring it on home. will use it as my daily for a while now to run it in, then get it up to UAS for some dyno runs and a tune before it hits the track again, like to have it all sorted before the Nats.
I'll be there to watch you running at the nats (but from the stands as my rebuild wont be run in & tuned in time).
Come on Dino You will kick yourself if your there and not running, I run mine in on the way to Phillip Island when the Nats were there in 07.
351.7 rwkw Spent the day at UAS today fixing a mystery short in the wiring, then put the car onto the rollers for some tuning runs after the rebuild, settled up with 350rwkw with a nice safe tune all day long. some pics Ben the tuning Wiz at work Jp has a lot of work in front of him to get the car ready for the nats engine bay
Great work Ron! Surely you will wind it up a bit more??? How is it for lag compared to youe old turbos...nice jump from 4>5k:br:
That's great Ron! And like you said, that tune and power level will last forever on your built engine! Can't wait to see live in action! :zlove:
Yeah still Has more in it Matt, but where are you going to use it? wanted something for the track that will put the power down and not light up the tyres ( all about traction) and 350kw is plenty. Haven't driven it in anger yet so don't know about the lag, overlaying the dyno graphs it looks about the same.
