"Poor Gargoyle has even posted up genuine interest in buying this car as a collectable item - but the poor guy doesn't even know what he's buying, because YellaZed can't answer half of these questions about the car. Apart from getting his nose out of joint to those people on here actually trying to give him answers but need more specifics to be able to do so".

It sure is hard to buy a car here. Don't know what I'm getting and don't know how much either. I can see a good investment opportunity here! Bit vague, but a goodie.
Mind you it's a good discussion on what a mod'd zed should be.

    Lolz!

Sounds like someone is having a teary because everyone isn't awestruck at the awesomeness and saying it's worth $80k!

You asked for opinions, you got them.

You likely have a car that a tuning house in Japan made and it got on a video. That's all very nice and all, it has a bit of provenience and all that. What else did it do? Did it win any race series? Hold any records? From what I can find out the bombed out yellow one (which may be the same chassis as your car) held the japanese top speed record for a road car for 6 months back in the late 90's.

You don't know even know whats hanging off the side of the engine, how can you call us 'detractors' and full of 'childish jealousy'? Find out the facts, if it is 90% of the old yellow car then I would be spending the money on bringing it back to the old spec. You'd know if it still had the OS 5 speed and td06's in it.

Lets be honest, it's not one of Steve Millen's race cars, or the JUN top speed record holding 300ZX. What sort of money are you really expecting to get for it? A item is only worth what the market is willing to spend.

Does anyone else here remember that episode of Seinfeld where George Costanza thought he bought Jon Voight's LeBaron car?

    Flashbacks.

We'll atleast the the for sale ad tells us what turbos are on it! :p

steven you can stop going on about the turbos we already realized 2 pages back it's running stock turbos. We just find it laughable the owner thinks they are TD06's but wasn't totally sure. (has he even driven the thing?)

this is just a mildly modified Z engine wise, without the original pentroof titanium exhaust.

This leads me to the last part of my rant.. How many km's have you done on it since taking ownership of the car yella?

is this why you don't even know what turbos are on it? because you've never actually driven it?
Do you know if the engine is reliable? will it do a 500km straight trip in 1 go?

this EOI is one big question mark.

Ditto that full Titanium Exhaust was worth assloads for that to be gone? No way If the turbo's are gone also and maybe even a redone engine nfi, not worth anymore than a normal zed with a Pentroof body kit on it now (sorry to say)

Interesting....this car was Imported from Japan a few years ago to the UK, and has been a well known car within the Uk Z community for a while. I have had a good look around the car in person.

It has since been sold and exported to Germany about a year ago.

its either made its way back to japan, or its an old advert. The UK importer of the pentroof believed the speedhunters article was several years old, although only recently released.

FWIW - that zed was sold ages ago. Oh and it was sold from Japan with a different wing and wheels! It was still worth circa $40K to someone! Not one tenth of that because it wasnt original anymore! :br:

Yep, the speedhunter pics are several years old. It was Imported to a UK owner in 2007, then sold on again into mainland Europe in 2009. The rear spoiler was changed to a R33 GTR/R34 GTT (cant remember which).

Same wheels (ce28n) but refinished in black.

There was also a change with the front bumper as well.

Just checked the for sale advert above's page info and it shows the date as Jan 2007, so that explains the confusion. Very old advert.

I think there's one thing that these posts have proven.

Without any documentation from PentRoof on its authenticity, history or build there will be doubters about your car.

That will also weigh heavily on the mind of any other collector. They're going to go through the same nightmare of trying to prove they have a PentRoof wth all the good bits too.
