PentRoof Z32

I posted an EOI in the For Sale but it was pulled.

Apparently I can't call for expressions of interest in the For Sale section, only advertise the car with a fixed price. I have no idea how to price the priceless.

I can, however call for a valuation in this section. Does anyone have any idea what I should expect for a pristine, one-of-a-kind PentRoof built Z32?

This is the one starring in Hot Version 59 and was photographed on the PentRoof website.

It is in exceptional condition and has travelled only 75000km. Fitted with all the fruit - PentRoof body kit, including the actual prototype FRP bonnet which was later produced in volume, albeit slightly altered.

It has 17" Volk TE37s, 9.0 front, 9.5 rear, shod with 255-40 Federals, PentRoof big front brake kit, HKS suspension, hicas removed, Bride Euro II seats, etc, etc, etc, the list goes on for miles.

It has been a garage queen since I imported it in 2004 and deserves to come out. Currently about to have the rubber rear wing replaced by a light weight FRP unit.

If any of our members are genuinley interested please PM me and I'll send you some information. I haven't seriously begun to advertise the car, but will take some fresh pics next week and put it into Unique Cars and maybe even the 'Bay.

Maybe aim for around the AUD$19,999.99 mark and see how you go?

monster tacho ... is this original.

    Monster tacho was this original,
If not then remove it ASAP because to get the price you are after and this car heritage deserves then you will be looking at a more "mature" zedder such as myself... a monster tacho n shift light scream boy racer.

    Are the apillar gauges original.
If not ditch them for reason above... p.s. only two are legal based on line of steering wheel.

I honestly think it would be worth more, but the question is weather you can actually get more in todays market. I think we are all well aware that they aren't worth heaps so you may have a hard time selling for that sort of cash, i'd put it up for low to mid 20's and see how you go.

current bonnet pins illegal in nsw, would need to be flat surface mounts.
Probably the same for other states.

Do you know the history of this car?

Watch the movie. Monster tacho was fitted by Pentroof.

Ditto, Pentroof fitted. No probs in QLD. If you buy it, change them.

I'm not sure how relevent this question is, really.

I could satisfy all the detractors and strip off the offensive PentRoof bits, I suppose. Then I am left with ....... what, really? Just another Zed in the For Sale section.

Thanks for the feedback. You have helped me make up my mind.

Well IMO it's nothing that super special... It's a standard engined Zed with a body kit, paint, big brakes and some nice seats. You would have to find someone who is a big fan of Pentroof to get a decent amount of money for it. You are relying purely on the name and an appearance in a video 15 years ago to triple the price of a clean mildly modded zed.

If it's absolutely mint then I would put around $20k-$25k for the right buyer.

Chuck it in Unique Cars and put $40k on it and see what happens :p

    Chrispy is on the money.

End of the day, if you did similar mods yourself to a stock Zed to get it to that standard, but didn't have that "Magical" Pentroof badge all over it, you wouldn't get any special price for it. Yes it's a rare release, but you're basically limiting your sale to someone who wants that particular Pentroof Zed if you put a high dollar figure on there.

Personally i wouldn't pay over $20k for it, and yes i know all about that Zed. But that's just me. Others may may more for it, so you just have to target them for your sale.
And most importantly, don't be defensive if people question the asking price if you want big dollars for it.

    Beautiful Z YellaZed :zlove:

The market is no friend at the moment to 300ZX (or GTR) prices, if I were you I'd try and hold onto it for another 10 years and then you'll see the figures starting to climb, especially for something as rare and good nick as yours. In the mean time, just enjoy it :D...I myself say f#$k the current market, I know what I've got and what it's worth to the right person and won't compromise on that just because someone says 100 other below par examples are at X price below mine.

I'd say he's not too worried about legalities Steven especially with the tow loop sticking out through the front bar...unless off course he gets pulled over by some DH cop that just wants to get him for something for the sake of it...really, its just because it's an import, if it was an actual issue they would book every 4WD that drove past with forward facing U shackles and shovels mounted to the bull bars, let alone the bull bars themselves...what a wank legality :W:

I would also say to get rid of the monster tacho and shift light in regards to looks and the type of buyer you would be selling to (a more mature and aesthetically tasteful buyer, teens / early 20s most likely wouldn't be able to afford something like yours and would be more interested in something dropped on it's guts with 20" bling chromies to thrash around the burbs) but if it's original to the Pentroof tuning house build then yeah leave em in if that's how you are selling it - as the rare Pentroof special.
All the best with what ever you decide to do, once again - SWEET Z! :D :br:
    Cheers,

    Craig

PS...looking at those pics Mafi I would say it's definitely looks the same car from the engine bay...yeah there's no glitter and his has a strut brace and red piping but it has the same part colouring, same radiator, catch can with blue piping, same red cabling beside the left strut tower, even the stickers on everything is the same...so I'm sure it is legit, the slightly different bits are easily changed ;)

    I agree with Craig.

Very bad time to even attempt selling. Zed's are almost valued like VN commodores at the moment..

Just hold onto it if you have the space and dont mind keeping it registered
