Yeah, that u-bend on the lower outlet makes me cringe every time I look at it, I'm not chasing power enthusiastically enough to actually change it though. Maybe I should buy two boost gauges...
Just ordered some 3" Split dumps and 2.5" AMS intercooler piping. Will get some japtek mammoth SMIC's within the next week or two, see if i pick up that 50hp or whatever the yanks claim.
I may dyno it, haven't decided. Hub dyno for 400kw on stock turbos? I'll just throw the dumps and cooler pipes on and run it at the drags, less restriction won't hurt and the big dumps will help with the massive backpressure issues these things have when pushed this hard.
Came across a strange issue, was playing with the 2 step today and no matter what i could not get it to hit more than 7psi. TPS voltage was 4v. After 5 or 6 attempts my TPS voltage hit 5v and the car hit 14psi on the 2 step, then on the next try could only hit 4v and 7psi again?
Big box of breather mods came a few days ago, going to hold off on spending anything else till after mid january as i'm buying an R33 GTSt in the next few weeks. Hoping the gas can make up for a lack of talent ... i pulled out all the factory piping and am starting to fit the ams piping...fitting the new piping is a pain though.
Thats on page 3 of this thread, they fit fine with some massaging. The intercooler piping is what im fitting now.
started fitting some of the 2.5" Boost piping.... man its a tight squeeze. I'm looking forward to driving the car after my 3" expansion dumps and these bigger pipes/coolers are fitted. Should make a big difference power wise.
Going to need a smaller radiator... We'll see if the breather mods make as much a difference as the dyno comparisons show. If they do we have a winner.
Ok well had a bit of a forced break from working on the zed after buying my R33, had to give my parents a fair amount of money and barely even being home in the first place took a bit of motivation away from me. Good news is my Diff spacers and extra long bolts arrived, my Japtek Mammoth SMIC's should be here by next wednesday and i'm hoping that on saturday i can actually get a good start on working on it. Its getting depressing looking at it sitting in my driveway gathering webs.
Stock diff is out, half shafts are out....... My Monster japtek mammoth SMIC's are here too.... its coming together nicely!
