Sorry guys, but isn't stage 3 with 15pounds boost enough power?

Sometimes I have trouble keeping the Z on the road - in the dry. Seriously!
eg. changing lanes with wheel spin, is not good.

Any more and I think you are really asking for trouble. Thinking from personal safety point of view.

    On what planet???
I have spent $20K plus, arriving at that figure.(or are you quoting flywheel figures?)

Re: Sweet bro - what you got jpc300?

270 KW with stock turbos is a bit of a joke as they are so far out of their depth most of the power is being dissapated in heat not RWkw. I think this claim is a bit of a TUG, personally. Or at the least unmeasured.

I do however think with stock engine and GT28R's. along with 555 CC injectors, an ECU tweak up, 20 PSI of boost and electronic boost controller, way bigger intercooler you should get 320KW or close. (sounds like what I am gonna do :))

The GT28R are not much good over about 24 to 26 PSI. You would need to get GT28RS and an engine rebuild with Forged internals to get that extra 80KW and be prepared to rev its tits off.

Its the law of diminishing money. Another 50 KW or more costs about $10,000 per 30 KW

    Should have explained more

In order for me to get that figure it would have cost me 20K+ as well all up. Costed me more than that because it was a non turbo car to begin with.

When I said the engine was 'stock' I meant that all of its internals were unchanged and hadn't had it opened up or rebuilt. If you look at my profile you will see a lot of work has been done to get to the 260-270kW

The work required to get there doesn't need an engine out job (unless your swapping engines :)) But does need an engine in good condition.

For 10K I dont believe you could get to a reliable 260-270kW unless your car has already got some work to it. But if your going to go for that power, I wouldn't do it unless you upgrade the cooling system which is more $$$ and I would also recommend wider wheels to fit much better quality, wider tyres which is more money again.

I guess if you really wanted to do it cheaply you could use mainly 2nd hand parts, things like boost jets (as opposed to an electronic boost controller), etc and if your mechanically minded you could do some work yourself as well.

I agree, they can bite hard if you don't pay attention

I find my NA's 135rwKw quite enough to get me into trouble occasionally. Twice or three times that doesn't necessarily equate to 2 or 3 times the fun.

    Gets pretty expensive to mod

especially the further you mod the car. Its an exponential scale, thats for sure :)

My dyno figure ranged between 260-270kW (depending on the weather etc. 301kW on one dyno hehe). Boost controller set to 15psi. Most people I guess would get the bigger turbos and injectors before reaching that point. I would certainly recommend that as its best to give these beasts an easy life.

cheap + big HP doesnt equal reliable.

Honestly I think your going to be sadly dissapointed starting off this rebuild with a budget of 10k. Look at doing it properly the first time, save a little more and spend less down the track.

I wouldnt bother asking JPC300 what mods hes done as they are all "top secret".

Well DUDE, I guess you know better than I do!

I guess I didn't need the rebuilt engine, Forged pistons, shot-peened rods, Hi-flowed turbo's, lightened flywheel, bigger Intercoolers, 3" exhaust system, Hi-flow Cats, Blitz Dual Solenoid Electronic Boost Controller, 6 puck clutch, or the MicroTech ECU.

WHERE WERE YOU, WHEN I NEEDED ADVICE????:p:rolleyes:

well personally i wouldn't think all of what

chili has had done is necessary.

rebuilt engine - optional (depending on health of engine)
forged pistons - not necessary for 270rwkw.
shot-peened rods - again not necessary
    Hi-flowed turbo's - yep, you'll struggle on stockies for 270rwkw
    lightened flywheel - not necessary
    bigger Intercoolers - yep
    exhaust system - good idea
Hi-flow Cats - can't hurt but not necessary
Blitz Dual Solenoid Electronic Boost Controller - not necessary, but something better than jets probably a good idea
    6 puck clutch - yep
MicroTech ECU - stock is good 600kw if you like.

Nope, im bad for apoligising because specially when its uncalled for ;)

Some people really know how to wreck a forum.

I think you have it in your mind this forum is a place to prove people wrong and act like your the man? low self of esteem-

And i seen what CHILLI has done and also think he can get way more or should get way more then 270kw. I dont see why not 350kw with those mods.. which, happen to be the same way i was going, and i see i need to up the budget which is one of the things i wanted to know ;)

But if you guys are right and telling me with all those mods and you can only manage 270kw then you are not only disgracing the power of the zed but you might aswell buy a damn SR20 which is very capable of those powers.

But i know the zeds are very capable of it so im sticking to my guns ;)

    Get a life ...

Nope, you seem to be doing that job quite nicely yourself...This forum is about helping each other, not arguing with people who clearly have more knowledge than you. You asked for opinions, you got one you didn't like and you arc'd up instead of considering what was proposed. When the person (Shifter) you were quoting clarified his post, it was clearly your turn to acknowledge that...

It's nice to know that someone who has recently just joined the forum and is new to zeds, knows more than some of the most experienced zedders here ...

Game over from me pal... [IMG]

Why ask for advice if you already "know" the answer?

i didnt no the answer but im getting it thanks

Zed4life you need to get a life you hypacrypt

Iv talked to Chilli over a week ago about his mods and thought then just like others that his car is more capable then 270kw with the mods his done to it so dont talk like your king shit because you joined this forum along time ago..low life

And secondly just because you have been on this forum for a long time doesnt make you n expert on all cars. kapish?

also way before you wrote your smart ass comments i pm'd shifter saying thanks for clarifyin check with him bozo not that its anything to do with you.

So instead of starting a fight by making abusive comments like "what planet are you from" (CHILLI) and "get a life" (zed4life) try being productive and if you dont want to be dont reply to the post. It seems its the few so called experts who are so arrogant and big headed.

and if you got a problem pm me and we can sort it out fuck faced low life. im only referring to zed4life...and if his your buddy from a long time because his been on this forum for ages and his an expert and you wanna stick up for him pm me or if you live in Sydney arrange to meet with me if you got a problem and think your someone special because you have been on this forum for a long time and your better then the rest of us/.
