Yes 3rd break in attempt in almost same location. The cop that came reckons they were differently trying to steal the car for joy riding but thanks to my club lock they didnt even bother.

Good news is i managed to find a local wreckers with a drivers door window which i intend to buy later today. Ive already cleaned the interior of as much glass as i could and ive pulled the door trim off to finish the glass removal.

Unfortunately i have no choice but to park it where it is outside in front of my parentd inlaws place they wont let me use there garage which is fair as its not my house. Just gotta hope it doesnt happen again and i finally buy a house where it will have a garage to sleep in at night.

    Thanks for everyones support.

They are not trying to steel it.

Someone doesn't like you parking there, maybe they don't like you living there.

    Your partners ex maybe.

This occurred to me on earlier occurrences, now I am sure.

    Windows broken nothing stolen ?

The club lock can be seen through the window.

Vandalised ? sure once maybe but three times same thing ? Is it happening to anyone else in the area ?

Why not key it ? I would say they don't want to be that mean or expose then self to that sort of risk and expense, on the scale of things a window is pretty easy to fix cheaply.

Same thing each time ? Broken drivers window ?

Is the in laws garage used at all ?

Very sorry to hear Adam and I know that pain all too well. When I didn't have a garage, my Z was targeted twice by someone in the street who probably just didn't like it.

Hoping you and your wife get into your own place soon and you can finally lock her up.

Lol... Mike, is that the car or the wife? (chained to the bed with enough slack to reach the kitchen hey?)

Sorry to hear the bad news again Adam... something's definitely odd here. As John pointed out, if someone really disliked you or your car why just keep doing this inexpensive and just inconvenient damage??? Surely they'd key the whole car / throw a bucket of paint (or even petrol  ) all over it. My bet is someone wants you gone but doesn't want to cause you too much cost or heartbreak.
Order a small and cheap 12v / rechargeable camera that simply records on to a memory card. Get it delivered to your work place (or friend's house) so no one you live knows you bought one. Leave it inside the car looking at the driver's window each night or somewhere close by outside - AND CATCH THIS MOTHER****ER :D

Adam do you have an alarm system installed? Get a glass break sensor installed if you havnt already...plus have a loud siren so if somebody is stupid enough to do it again, you could run out quick enough hopefully.

Is it still parked at the same place as the last few times? In Mill Park?

I agree, someone has it in for you. Catch them in the act. Catch them checking out your window next week after it is repaired.

Some kind of hidden cam (or cams) inside the car that can be checked.

Have you tried putting a car cover over it, sometimes thieves cant be bothered taking it off. Best to get a good thick quality rain proof one that takes a bit of effort putting on and off.
Sometimes thieves think its just a "project" sitting at the side of the road.
You could also put a camera inside as well, to catch any one should they take the effort to remove the cover.
I know this could be a pain for yourself everyday taking it on and off, but could be enough to deter lazy thieves.

Thanks for all the advice guys. This is the second window breakage attack on my z its parked on the street in front my parents inlaws house. Its also right infront of a high traffic roundabout and there is a school across the road. This is best place for me to park the car with my current situation living at my parents inlaws place.

My wife and i are trying to buy a house but property prices are just so high and some of the houses we inspected were either too small or missing something we were looking in a house. When i do get a house my z will be parked in a garage every night but until then im on my own. I have a club lock on the car which i think stopped the thieves in there tracks but the window was smashed in by then i have my sunshade over the dash which was covering the club lock and after telling the cops this they said it the club lock was vision they may have not even bothered to touch the car. So im going to leave my sunshade off at night from now on.

As for the cameras im seriously considering getting my own put in place so i can hopefully catch these pricks in the act but it probably wont stop them from damaging my car really but when my finances are abit better ill look at some home sercurity cameras systens and see how i can set them up.

How bright is your club lock?
Red isn't very obvious in the dark.
I know because I had one.

Paint it YELLOW? Or wrap some of that reflective tape around it.

Do you have a flashing LED (alarm is armed warning)

Get a moulded dash mat to protect dash (check if Repco sells them, ask Adam :p) and ditch the shade.

If you can point a camera from the house, don't wait. Order from ebay.com.au now. Cheap, (you have a budget) but will take 28 days to arrive.
