I wish I could but I have been parking in the street for 12 months straight now and I've going to my wife's parents place for 9 years now its only been the last 2 months this has happen and my car seems to be the only vicitim which of course has me worried. If my car is stolen/burnt or written off I can never replace the rare and expensive parts I installed into it but i guess thats life and I just pray this stops from now on.

Yeh i think its just kids looking for some thrills or druggies looking for money.

I assume the most recent breaking is was for the thrives to joy ride my car and once they broke in they saw the club lock and decided its not steal-able with the tools they had.

But i have always thought my car was not very desirable by thieves considering its an automatic, none turbo and a 2+2 model not the best version of the 300ZX but i guess its a sports car to them it must be fun to drive.

for now I'm just going to hold out until the weekend and then pull the door apart and get it back to normal if i can.

thank you again guys for the support and suggestions, the GPS unit looks like a good idea and ill look into getting one down the track once my repairs are finished.

Disconnect all the coilpacks every time you leave the car, that's what I do every night haha. The joys of street parking.

Maybe leave a note on the passenger seat saying it's an auto na and only makes about 120rwkw, the commodore down the road will give you more jollies and probably has drugs stashed in the centre console.

Well given you've stated it has rare parts etc, and looks very nice and clean in your sig block, I REALLY....REALLY hope it's not "option 3".

    :agree:

I think a note in the window even would be AWESOME.

    Low lives yes.

    Human....well.....yes.

Who knows. maybe a note of some kind may actually work.

Or they may key your car though.

    Hard to call.

After our house was broken into once, I used to think about leaving a note on the kitchen bench for potential burglars whenever the house was empty.

    Never did it though.

So have you found the culprits yet? Or any other updates in the saga? I'd want to burn the ****ers to the ground if I ever found them

No I doubt I ever will find out who did this to my car and I just pray it never happens again. I've learnt alot about dealing with the unexpected and I hope the next time something like this happens with the Z I can approach the situation with a clear head and not get so emotionally upset about it and look at fixing the problems using the knowledge and contacts I have at my disposal.

    The lastest news on my repairs are as follows;

I am hoping to replace the broken passenger side door lock barrel this weekend and also try to install the OEM keyless entry system into the drivers door along with a few other door related parts/fixes to put the door repairs to rest completely.

I also still haven't replaced the rear 1/4 window as of yet but its on my to do list and should be done in the next month or so along with replacing a stuffed tie rod end on the power Steering rack which has giving me wheel play on the LH wheel for months:mad:.

If all goes to plan I should have all the repairs completed by the time the Doug memorial cruise is on so my Z can attend all back together again and looking its best.

Thank you for the support guys, its such a good feeling being apart of this club/forums with so many like minded people to share these experiences with.:zlove:

Damn, was casually browsing zed forums after work and saw this. Really sorry to hear about your shitty luck, Adam :(

When I had my r32, I used to take the fuel pump fuse out at night - it was in the interior fuse box, zed's probably the same? Obviously won't stop these assholes from breaking in, but unless these pricks bring a tow truck, they're not leaving with your car.

Other than that, I'd be investigating some sort of cam/cctv setup.

    Cheers,

    Kirill

Thanks dude, its been a rough time for me and the Z with several little annoying issues popping up that I just don't have the time to investigate and repair I've had to just put up with it and plan out the fixes and repairs on the couple of free weekends I get every month.

And like ive said before, I'm trying to look at the positive side of all this crap and think about the improved overall future my Z will have with all of these new parts I'm installing to repair the damage from these break ins.

Well Adam, if you have all the bits you need to finish it off, maybe spring some food and booze and do a tech weekend. I'm sure there is a decent enough amount of zedders down there too help out.

I would love to host a tech day, problem is i am living with my parents inlaw atm and they wont offer their place for a tech day and I cant offer my Dad's place either so until I get my own place and get settled I cant host a tech day but I have plans to make it an annual event at my place as I find tech day so much more interesting and better for owners to socialise with other owners and learn about the car then just driving all day long.

Latest update is, I got the passenger door lock all fixed and working, which ticks that off my to-do list. I full installed the remote central locking system into the car as well after it was install i put the door back together thinking the system was working fine but when I did a final test of the system I found the actuator was able to lock the door no problems, but when it came to unlocking the actuator seems to be lacking the power to pull the linkage arms down enough to unlock the door and so my door was momentarily stuck shut for a few minutes until we luckily unlocked the door. I think the problem lies in the length of the linkage arm we made for the joiner to the central locking linkage but it could also be the mounting angle of the actuator which is on a 10-20 degree angle but we need to do more adjusting of the linkages to hopefully find the sweet spot for the actuator to work properly. I'm sure I can get the system working, its just waiting to work on the Z it is killing me but that's life i guess.

Not sure if you still need altia illuminated 1/4 panels but I saw some on gumtree this morning in qld when I searched 300zx. Also is there any chance I could get the part numbers for the 1/4 windows for a 2+2 both left and right.
    Cheers

Found the Z like this this morning:mad:

Checked the car and nothing has been taken at all, I honstly reckon its vandalism of some kind but ffs this is really pissing me off.

Ive had to take a day off work so I can try and source a replacement drivers window which I don't even know I will be able to find one today. Made a report with the police and I'm waiting for the crime squad to come down and inspect the car.

And there is nothing I can do to stop it this from happening again:mad:
