yeah i used to have some HKS hyper D II on my old car

and every time i lost it was in teh wet, those coilovers were VERY stiff...

i have herd from many different sources that the king springs tend to sag a little over time.. i havent experianced this for myself, just herd rumors.

lets just get 10 ppl for this GB first, then the final decisions can be made

caz any chance that u can negotiate with the suppplier in ordering a quantity of 5 instead of 10?:p As interest has died.

Thought id share a story here on someone importing these very same shocks by air freight. Fellow ordered these shocks and got them sent by air freight. When the shocks arrived the fellow installed them and after he did all the hard work noticed that the shocks wernt what they're supposed to be. Turns out the gas had escaped. One explantory reason was that the pressure in the plane wasnt sealed right and letting the gas escape at high altitudes, as all 4 shocks did this...not one singular shock. Poor fellow ended up giving out on this set to buy another set here in australia...not sure if he took it up with the freight company or not.

I was going to import but the reasons for warranty and possibly this happennig to me which is one in a million turned me away.

anyways thought id share a story i heard, for people going to import to save costs.....food for thought

Exactly my concern Pete, with something like shocks there are too many potential problems. NGK are the Australian distributors for KYB and they have great customer support.

If we get 5 definites with the shocks, I will hassle my rep. But I would need to be able to say 'I want to order 5 sets now' to have any chance..

So thats just 2 more takers and I can try :)

yes, exactly the same reason i didnt import them,it may seem cheaper;) but in the long run it can double your price ,buy them here and they are covered by australian warranty :D ,buy them from the u.s and you are on your own

Just out of curiosity, what lenght of warranty is provided on these? 12 months? Do they need to be installed by a professional for the warranty to be valid? Im still trying to convince my fiance that I, I mean "we" can afford a set. hehe.

Will I still get a huge improvement in handling if i keep my stock springs?

    thansk,

    Pete

Its a 3 YEAR 60,000 km Warranty against manufacture defects and premature failure.
Thats a top warranty period for something like shocks. :D
It covers the part, not the remove and re-fit.
You can fit them yourself and still be covered by Warranty.

Hi Caz... haven't read the full thread responses, but is it possible to purchase just the front shocks? And, does this help (or hinder) the group buy aspect? I already have 'newish' rears fitted in an alternative brand.
    Regards, Mike

    Hi Mike,
Yes it would help the GB but I would be a little concerned about have different shocks front and rear.... Is it OK to do that??

Hi WhiteNight, If we can get even 5 definites (20 shocks) I'll hassle my Rep. Once confirmed I would need payment within a week as they are ready pick, I dont have to wait for them to ship or anything. :)

  16. Egg

    Egg ....

    Not really recommended

But it's ok to mix and match front and rear shocks... left and right is a real no no but front and rear is ok. :)

    Mix 'n match...

S'long as they are quality... and these are near-new... it is OK to mix 'n match front to rear but, as Egg says, side-to-side is asking for trouble. I have these on the rear as I tend to be a junk-accumulator and carry a lot of it in my boot... 's a wonder I don't have a few old girlfriends (yes, even at MY age) stuck in there!!:)
I'll keep checking to see if you go ahead and also a price for fronts only. Cheers, Mike.

You would need to get them made, I don't know of an off the shelf spring for the Zeds that will drop you 2+inches.

The Tanabes dropped me over an inch and now they have settled in I can't get into my garage  ........
