Kitty gets Da Bling

Well the time has finally arrived - The Plenum Pull.
Most of you will go, Ho Hum... Boring, but to me its the first major job undertaken.
Over the past 18mths I have been reading and learning, mostly from you guys, Thanks for the help and knowledge.

Also over that time I have been collecting the bits and pieces to do the plenum pull (water bypass),
but while I'm under there, fix a cam cover leak and service the Injectors.

I have never done this sort of thing, although I have done engine rebuilds on older tech cars, and its been quite a while.
I'm now 50ish and the back is not the best so I required help.
My son assisted me for the first stage, getting the damn thing appart.

This is what I am starting with.






The plan is a White, Red, and chrome theme.
All that has to go under the bonnet at some stage.


I had some cam covers powder coated, and wanted to use the Copper hammertone ones,
but they looked lost under the white plenum, so red it is.
Looks like The Brat will be getting the hammertone ones under a polished plenum, but thats another story.

I have seen various colour plenums but never a white one, so I thought, "What the hell, Have a go".

I pulled plenum first time the other week off my donor car and sheeesh !! what a b*tch ! I ended up cutting some hoses figured I wont be using them anyway make my life easier .

Once you get rid of those under plenum hoses, any subsequent removal of the plenum is a lot easier.

Yeah my car has had the plenum water line deletes already done when motor was out .

But I had to try and pull the plenum on the other car to see how hard it was

Thanks for that. Yeah some of the stuff is in awkward places.
I am just grateful its not a turbo.
After doing the rewire of the injectors and coil paks, made life easier.

Hopefully there won't be a next time.
