Garret GT28R Turbos Hey Graham, Im new to this club and must say what a great cub it is. Its got everything i need witch im sure will help me in near future. Anyway im interested in your group buy, am i right to say the cut of date is the 16th June of $500 and the final payment late July. If so can u put me down for a pair if its not to late:thumbsup:
Re: Garret GT28R Turbos No probs Gavin, Look a bit earlier on in the thread and there is a link to the TTzed web site and the pages you need to go to order. Wack your order in there and Simon will email you on the 16th for you to send your deposit. Cool, welcome aboard !!
Turbos on the way I got a call from Simon (TTZ) today and my turbos should be on the truck for delivery tomorrow. The motor pull and installation is a bit daunting. I have lots of parts to procure before the operation as I will do everything that is easier to do while the motor is out.
lucky for me lol... My turbo is about to shit its self. SMoking blue when i start up, and oil leaking out past the dump to turbo housing gasket, not long after starting it up.
Re: Turbos on the way Yeah he rang me today as well. If you want them now. He has the stock. I dont think it's a problem if you want to wait for the dates either. I will get mine next week.
Any news on the turbos yet??? Simon emailed me to say they were in and I transfered the funds on the 6th. Must be close by now!!! Can't wait.
Re: Any news on the turbos yet??? Give him a call mate. I havent got mine either. I am not in too much of a rush so I havent been onto him. I am in the middle of tracking down the Dumps for myself and the rest of you guys. I will have this sorted in the next few days. Who's up for dumps as well?
The turbo price is going to stay cheap for another month or two. Just spoke to Simon from TTzed today, and he said that he is going to keep the turbos cheap for anther month or 2 or whenever Garret stop giving him the good price. So he wanted me to tell people if you are still interested in these turbos, u can still get them Cheers Michael
Re: The turbo price is going to stay cheap for another month or two. Excellent news, i wanted them but the cash is a bit tight at the moment.
GT28R's It is evident that these turbos are a sensational upgrade at a very reasonable cost. However, in most circumstances to have them fitted to reach their ultimate potential the cost of the turbos will represent minimum one third of the overall cost. Injector upgrade, five bolt dumps, actuator upgrade/custom brackets, custom compressor inlet piping plus engine pull are all required. You can also add exhuast manifold porting/extrude hone if you like. So if there are few people that missed out on the group buy because they are a few bucks short of the outlay for the turbos themselves I would not slash your rists. I imported mine a couple of months ago from Canada at a very reasonable cost and I wouldn't consider that the cost would have changed all that much since then. BTW: Many economists are predicting a .7000 AUD/USD in the first quarter of 2006 which would change the equation a fair bit. Tony
You're right Tony. This is all about marketing ! Garrett Asutralia obviously have been seeing increased numbers of imported turbos and must have decided that they need to do something about it (Price). Apparently they may think they have done a job in stemming this (i think not) and have increased the price again. I wouldnt worry too much the market will find its own level.
turbos I have seen these turbos sell for around the US$650 mark on ebay new. So it wouldnt be hard to import a couple of em for around the $2k mark with shipping. It may be more than what we were paying in the group buy but its still a couple hundred cheaper. I personally would much rather order through TTZED but I dont really want to pay more than $2k for the 2 turbos combined.
It seems that the deal through Simon has finished I may still be able to get more from another source. If anyone still wants them and has missed out on the GB. Email me asap. The money in this case is up front, as I would have to pay for them in advance. Let me know asap if there is further interest! I would need to have this go down asap to get the price from the other source. Graham
Well the bottom line for those that missed out is $2000 including GST, and 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. I need to buy at least two sets (4 turbos) to get that price. Payment is cash up front. Sorry its the best I can do .
Re: Well the bottom line for those that missed out is email tuneagent I know they have a large amount of stock of Garret turbos. They should be able to help. Go to http://www.tuneagent.com
Re: Well the bottom line for those that missed out is dam, I must have just missed out by a few days  Thanks Graham for finding out  Im glad that someone one is able to get in contact with Simon :| I'm sure $2000 is still a good price for these turbos, but i feel as if im getting riped of as ever1 else got it for less Is there any1 else that missed out that may be interested in geting these turbos. were is the tuneagent shop
