Ok lets get serious with this.

Can I get an idea how many people are interested in a pair of these turbos.

The price is $1800 a pair delivered, and could be less depending on how many we can get in one drop.

So show your hands here cause I am gonna buy mine regardless through my business account. No reason I can't get more.

We will do a buy on upgraded actuators and also 5 bolt dumps after we get this turbo thing sorted out

The specs for the Turbos are as follows

    GT28R 0.64A/R turbine, 62 trim turbine, 0.60 A/R compressor housing and 60 trim wheel.

Same as HakkenTT has modified his car to have.

    Im interested too

Graham, i just want to make sure you are getting the ones with the 2bolt intake and 3 bolt output on the compressor side. Just so that it is a direct bolt on.

If you can get a group buy for 5 bolt dumps, that would be awesome too, coz recently there has only been group buy for 4 bolt dumps.

    Re: Im interested too

The inlet to the turbine fits the standard Manifold.

The exhaust outlet is 5 bolt which isnt standard.

The compressor inlet has to have the pipe directiuon modified but the standard one will fit but you have to cut re-weld and rotate the air inlet pipe direction.

I will clarify all this before the deal is done.

Provided nothing changes, the pricing I have been quoted is sub $1800 pair.

It would be good to pull this together within 6 weeks.

Interested but I'm not really mechanically inclined is this too big a

project or with other parts will it be mostly bolt on?

Well its definitely engine out, There are parts to be modified/made.

Some is bolt on and other bits arnt.

I would expect for me do do it myself It will take 3 days and I have access to a machine shop to make parts.

You would have to be pretty dedicated and have a mechanical mind to do this yourself. A lot of standard parts will fit but have to be modified slightly.

I am sure a workshop could fit these for a price.

im assuming its going to be the same process as

    HakkenTT's turbos from twinturbo.net

    Click for link

hmm, ive been looking at the process on how to put it together and the way i was going to do it was to keep engine in and just remove plenum to create a bit more room plus i have to install new injectors while im at it. But the only bit thats troubling me is the fact that i will need to modify the inlet pipe for the compressor side. that could be a bit of an issue getting it to fit.

Do you think the stock actuators can be used?

    Cheers

Re: im assuming its going to be the same process as

My understanding is mechanically they are good up to 18PSI, (I dont know if this is right or not. They may be better)

But they are really Big MOFo's. The HKS ones are a lot smaller but need special brakets made.

My expectation from doing this is to realize 300rwHP at 14 PSI. I think other tweaks may need to happen before that is possible. Dump would need to be replaced and maybe extrude honed exhaust manifold. I will sort it out after I get the turbos and see whats possible and how much it costs.

There may also be a better Garret actuator but I have to find out about that yet.

I imagine that it may be possible with the Plenum off. I havent really thought that through as I always figured engine out was easier.

Leaving the engine in place may be easier to Fab brakets etc as you know where it has to fit.

Very possible maybe. I wouldnt pull the engine if I didnt have to either.

OK guys this is a GO

The price will be $1720 delivered. Delivery time is 6-8 weeks so we have some time to save up.

We will require a deposit of $500 up front.

I have negotiated a dela with Simon at TTZ to do the logistics of the delivery and supply.

I will link to the web page for the group buy tomorrow.

The turbos are Genuine Garret Australian delivered parts. They have the full Garrett guarrantee.

The Specifications for the turbine and compressor as as I posted earlier on. These are the same as used by HakenTT in TT.net.

Read the link for more info on fitting.

The onlineordering system from TTZED for group buys will be used. To Register you will log on the TTZ site and order from there.

Let's say we can will finalize the quantities in 4 weeks. 16th of June when all monies have to be paid to TTZED.

I will post the order link late tomorrow

Sounds good Graham! What about the other staff for mounting the wastegate actuator etc? I am not exactly handy nor do I have access to a machine shop to fabricate anything. I am 99% sure of being in but would like it to be a true bolt on affair.

Re: OK guys this is a GO

What I am gonna do is make a master set of actuator patterns using THXZED GT28R's in the next few weeks.

I will then get a few dozen sets lazer cut for us all.

They wont be too expensive I dont think. Maybe $50 or so.

Tony has bought HKS actuators, I am not sure if that is what we will end up with yet as Garret do have some better than stock ones that may be OK for us.

I have to start looking for cheapish better actuators and 5 bolt dump pipes to complete the set.

I have to get my hands on a pair of turbos and see what has to be done about the inlet piping. The flanges are the same but the outlet direction is different. So some pipes will have to be cut and rewelded.

I may be able to do a changeover service for these bits. But I will have to work it all out first.

I have a VG30 Block and heads here to check this all out. But I am missing a set of stock Manifolds. Has anyone got a spare set?

The compressor housings also have to be rotated for them to fit. Garret will do this for us at no cost, but we have to tell them what we want done.

I think the hardest bit is organizing the group buy for the turbos, but happily Simon has helped us out on this. He offered a better deal for us all than I could get.

I am happy to go with TTZ for this seeing the price is very good and we can keep it in the family.

    Sounds great

You have just answered all my questions and uncertainty about the group buy. The only issues i had with it all was where to get all the mounting plates for the acutator made and rewelding the intake pipe.

But if you could organise the plates and exchange basis for the intake that would be great! Will be happy to pay for the extra service. oh and the dump pipes too.

    Thanks Graham
