I like Karl's idea of a 91 octane tune. Even though I wouldn't use it as I don't really do that much highway driving, I do have to say that it is a clever idea.
He didn't say that we should all use his tune switcher to run 91RON, he just asked if anyone else would be interested in it. Personally I'm more interested in the idea that I could run two diffferent tunes for 98RON.

Ah who cares about detonation, engine rebuilds are nothing compared to saving $4 a week on fuel! Especially for some of the guys around here, complete experts they are with monster post counts that can rebuild engines in their sleep! lol

seems neither of you have read the entire thread.. it's not just about being able to use 91 for fuel economy but sometimes you just might have to! There's also the option of switching to a more agressive tune for when you're running race fuel.. it seems useful to me.

If i have to go out bush and dont have the option of 98 fuel then this is a must. The detonation is taken care of in the tune.
