and if im running 16 pound on a healthy engine? would i need one then i defiantly will make sure about the s2 ptu though
Any intake temperature drop is worth while, once the boost goes up on the stock turbos so dose the intake temperature, by how much I don't know, but the smic's I have are 300% bigger by volume, as are most a/m smic, that's going to make a difference!
ah ok, on the note, if i were to geta front mount would another thermo fan behind the cooler be a good idea?
I don't think I've really heard of anyone doing that because of the FMIC. If you're cooling system is in good condition it won't be needed, the stock one is fine.
I've actually read complaints on the forum where people have found the thermo fan to be worse than the stock one. Or they broke or something. I don't remember but the conclusion was a stock fan will keep a system in otherwise good condition cool. A better option would be some sort of venting system to direct the air into the FMIC/radiator or to cut the stock bar open a little to allow more airflow. And move the numberplate to the side. That sort of thing.
I'd go - whiteline solid swaybars, bigger SMIC's 'chilli' or similar brake master cylinder brace coolant flush, new oil new brake pads (qfm/a1rm's or whatever they're called sound good) new brake fluid new gearbox fluid and a scented pine tree :zlove:
Once you've done maintainance. My advice is exhaust, boost and tune. Forget intake, not required for 300 rwhp, just boost catback and a tune, you wont get that all for 1500, id go boost and tune first, then look for 2nd hand catback
^ What he said! Front and rear A1RM and a 1L bottle of TRW RBF600 racing brake fluid still leaves you with $1250!
Yeah i would do brakes but they just got done just 2k kms ago. i like the fmic for the bling i guess, i think i may do FMIC and a good tune any recomendations on a place to tune?
that ebay link i put up, anyone else got one from here? question i ask it his writen that the fog lights may need to be removed. is that only if your running the stock reo bar?
put 1 of the E-bay intercoolers in mine. Didnt have to alter the front bar reo at all, it fitted behind it perfectly. Can't find the exact seller, but looks like the same kit. Hope that helps
Took about 6 Bundy and Cola cans to install (2hrs), without putting front bumper back on. First time pulling the front off, reading a tech section may have helped with locating the numous screws that seemed to be holding it on. Have about 20mm clearance between the front bar reo and the intercooler. Pretty easy install- good thing too, no instructions supplied. Also, doesn't come with ALL of the necessary silicon piping to replace existing rubber ones.
Seems like you're set on getting the FMIC from the beginning anyway But I had $1500ish to burn and I put it into a set of Teins. Not much noticible difference from first impressions, but then thats because I don't dare drive my car hard. Next on my own agenda is exhaust...no point having big power if you get carbon monoxide poisoning everytime you drive right? Eitherway I've been looking at the ebay FMIC's as well...not sure bout quality or whatever though, seems every seller is using the same pictures. Maybe later, when the car is closer to "stock"
I wouldnt bother with intercoolers at this stage. Alot of people noticed no real gain in the 12 - 15psi area. Ive driven some really quick Zeds with stock intercoolers
im not sure about the cooler now, as someone else said they are all using the same pics, and when emailign the seller he wasnt very clear on what it came with
