    Lean will still make boost.

Just a thought here, the passenger side wastegate rod and actuator could easily be jammed on something as the engine is coming out or going in. It sits on the outside of the turbo. If that gate is flapping in the breeze, you will have no boost, or if the actuator is bent back, the gate won't be closed properly. Go to the car, get underneath and see if the actuator, rod and gate is all how it should be.

talking about the bar that goes from the waste gate? so if thats moving, thats not a good thing... basically lol

If it moves freely, not good. If the actuator bracket is all bent out of shape, not good. If the wastegate flap is free to flap about, not good.

Wastegate, is the bit inside the exhaust housing. A round disc with a lever attached.

Actuator, is the bit the hose goes on, has a diaphram and a spring inside the canister.

Actuator rod, the rod that connects the wastegate to the actuator.

    got ya...

now if said actuator is fried or rod is bent... assume largish job to fix? replace just the actuator or complete turbo open...

try straightening the rod first lol.... failing that, if they are high flowed stockies, the get the rod of the extra set off turbos at ak's and swap it in.....

ok so can get to passenger actuator rod

sits forward but with a bit of effort can push back... thou wasnt the hardest thing in the world to do, how stiff are the springs meant to be? but it would definately hold itself in what i assume the shut spot is... it wasnt floating free or anything

no other play except for that really... for passenger side that is.

so on a car that was running 16psi, should you be able to move the spring by hand at all?

On mine I can't do it by hand while the engine is in. Can't get the leverage. Remember, the gates need to effectively seal at full noise, that requires a fair bit of clamping force against the exhaust flow. Stock gates will creep at about 16-18psi dependent on age.

Best thing to do to rule it out, is to take the exhaust off. If you have stock dumps you should be able to see up them, if you have diverged dumps you won't. Best to rule it out, because if it's them gates causing the drama, then its a turbo off job.

i do have stocks so win... but exhaust off is a pain in the ass... zorst was twisting slightly from the last car it was in from a small crash means its bit of effort to get it on each time lol...

hmmmm so that could be the cause then,

and if you tell me engine out job i will slap some one so hard they will never have kids

yeah i wouldnt bother doing them in... its more ive pulled 4 engines in the past 3 weeks i really dont want to do another one :/

chris, ill put the other injectors in yeah but if you arent meant to be able to move the actuator rod at all then it makes me iffy :/
