ok so may now what the problem is but just want to post up before i get home and have a play. idles fine, no hunting, drives but has 0 boost, like a very slow NA... almost -ve boost up at 5000rpm when you clutch in you can here the wind down like normal, release of air or such. ball bearing turbos which you can hear spin down after the car is off. Now there were a few vac lines off and what looks like put on wrong ie now question is could this be caused solely by vac leaks or vac lines going to the wrong points?
A few vac lines off wont give you no boost, low response yes, but turbos will still provide enough air to make positive pressure. Sounds more like a wastegate issue, ie wastegates open. What turbos? And did you check/set the wastegates?
rebuild high flowed stock turbos, cant say we set or checked the wastegate, engine+ turbos as a whole came out of another car and was running perfectly, thus no change.
They wont be ball bearing then. Time to start checking for rags etc jammed in pipes and turbos. Just fyi, reason I dont think it is a vac leak, you say it doesnt hunt and runs ok otherwise, will need a massive leak to make no boost. If you have a fmic, you havent mixed up the piping?
hardie har lol fmic is fine, was on with the other engine and was boosting fine.. took intake pipes off with the car running and can feel air being pumped through up to throttle bodies so id be iffy about a rag blocked. plus dont remember plugging any up with rags or anything being visible when we plumbed it back up oh they are ball bearings... ezzupturbo confirmed... we were told they were rebuilt stock highflows but they do have a badge on the side ill take a pic of later... can hear them rolling after it shuts down...
egr was still in so some of them were missing, the line down to recurc was missing or plumped straight up to wastegates.... hard to see which was which
what boost controller What boost controller are you running, manual or electronic? Maybe something there
which means its hard core shut constantly... takes vac to open it... where as in this situation its constantly open yes? so if there is no vac line on the wastegates should it just over boost?
ok so no boost controller means it should just boost its t$ts off you have plumbed the turbo's up properly haven't you?
would have to be pretty epic but... like maassssiiivvvveee plenum was never off. egr could cause it maybe but doubt it na im saying as a test. if i just leave wastegates going no where they it shouldnt open meaning it should over boost yeah? since there is no boost to open it and release?
so thats a first test... even with vac lines missing if it should boost solid, not as good but more than noticeable so if i just pull everything off, it should boos if its going to boost and this kind of thing wouldnt be caused by lack of fuel or anything fuel related would it.
