We could run something like this concurrently in all states.... Drop it to say $50 donation, say 60 participants AUS wide and that's a fairly significant contribution...
I dont know everyone on here so forgive me if I dont start handing cash over to the fist person that gives me bank details
These are people that have come together, had a large meeting and then met with Eric in person and discussed with him what his wishes are. Setting up multiple accounts is useless and confusing/stressful for Eric too. You say you can't trust them, why should we trust you? All bullshit aside, the people originally organising it aren't low enough to steal from us in a situation like this.
Oh.. Oh.. pick me Joking. Coordinate your efforts with Evil Twin, TeeJay, and Nasty_Girl (and of course a2zed) This would keep everyone informed of your actions. I have been watching the process unfold and these are the main people on the forum from what I have seen so far. Also watch the thread "Any minute now" thread http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1326926#post1326926 for any updates. Good stuff Cam, keep it up.
I dont think there should be a minimum amount to donate. I'm sure even a $5 donation would add up in the end. Sure there can be a preferable amount like say $50, but if somebody cant afford $50 doesnt mean that they shouldnt donate $5 or $10 if they can, as every single cent counts. For people that can afford to help & donate more, then sure if its $100 or how much they would like to donate, I'm sure Eric & his family would much appreacite every single donation regardless of how much it is. I'm sure if we all can participate in the TwinZ group buy & commit to over 10k worth of parts, surely we can afford to donate something to help a fellow zedder that has helped everybody. Regardless of if a minimum amount of donation is needed or just whatever anybody can help donate, ill still put in the $100 as i know that especially with young kids, the bills can be high. Abraham
We are in the process of getting an account set-up. Evil Twin is working with Eric on this..... setting it up in a way so that it does not interfere with child support payments/centrelink benefits etc. it will not be in our names but rather that of Eric's children so there should be no trust issues. Will post details once we know. I like the idea of a concurrent cruise. Unfortunately I am heading overseas in 2 weeks but hopefully someone else can take the lead on organising this. There is a bit of a gathering again this afternoon so if any further details arise from this we will let you all know. Thanks for everyone's support..... we know everyone is anxious to start contributing but we wanted to make sure we did it in a way that it was worthwhile and useful rather than just throwing large sums of money out there with no designated use etc.
I'm keen to participate but there's no way I can afford $100 at this point. My car is generally empty, lol.
Fundraising ideas for the Goldfields cruise. 1. BBQ lunch, profits go into the fund. 2. The Rod Museum entry fee is only $5.00 each. I expected it to be $15 or $20, would have been happy to pay that much. What's say we put up $10 each for the entry, the excess goes into the fund.
Nah man i didnt say give me the money Just need to be sure when this account turns up that it is legit
Yeah good idea Mick, so whatever money is made from lunch, extra $5 from museum, and what ever entry fee people can afford?
I think running a concurrent cruise across all states is a great idea. I wouldn't set a limit though... just say all donations welcome for entry to attend. If people wish to give $50 they will. We dont want to force people into donating large sums of money. Unfortunately I am heading overseas in the very near future but if someone else in QLD would like to put up their hand to organise it I think it would be a great idea! Cruise could even head up over mt nebo/glorious and down to Fernvale area (where Eric lives).
If im ready Ill be up for a cruise and donation . Think about how much a mechanic would charge to check your car and write a report . What Eric has done on this forum is as close you can get without actually being there . I think we all have benefited from Erics knowledge and help . Time to give some back
Eric, I can't even begin to imagine how you must be feeling. I have 2 beautiful daughters and a wife I love with all my heart. Is there anything practical that you need help with right now? I'm really happy to contribute to a fund for your kids, but that might be a way off. Is there anything you need just now?
Lets get this moving along You might have seen I posted up Erics own Bank Details last night. I am looking for people to help assist with a fundraiser in each state. I will kick QLD off with a cruise to be held in the next few weeks. Steve Z has redesigned a wooshka sticker and is willing to make these available to everyone who makes a donation. When state representatives make themselves available for fundraisers, they will be supplied with stickers for distribution to those who have donated at a given fundraising event. So who wants in?
