I'm pretty sure I will be there to drive. Simon is making my front pipes tomorrow, then will speak to Bob about tuning it in the next few weeks. Then I just have to install oil pressure and water temp gauges and I'll be good to go.
Is your car going to be tuned by then?

 

Hell yeah it will be tuned. Diff gears going in next week and I'll get it tuned once they have been run in.

man you're nuts. sif put leader gears in when you can't use 1st as is. you should be extending your ratios rather than shortening.

 

i wana come but i dont have a zed let alone a sports car

i've had the gears under my bed for over 16 months, i might aswell use them. who needs 1st anyway, or 2nd for that matter. the fun starts in 3rd

still ages to go. lets give others the chance of getting over the fears of going on a racetrack. a couple of weeks before the big day, i'll plan a cruise for all zeds going up there together.

 

Winton is a terrific track. Very tight and twisty and YES leader gears would be great here.

Best part is that the run off areas are HUGE unlike Sandown. At Sandown you go off you are gonna bend something. At Winton you are unlikely to come off and damage something.

Up the back where there are a few quite tight turns I remember the back of my road car drifting around them cause I took the stereo out to make it lighter.

A word for 2 seater owners. Dont take your stereo equipment out the back. You are gonna need that weight in there.

I can fondly remember at the end of the pit straight partially losing the back end under brakes and holding the rear at about 30 degrees and drifting around the corner was pretty fun.

Main straight I hit 200 before the big brake through the dogleg.

Every Session I did I managed to get another 1 -2 sec+ off my time. The back is especially challenging. Get the line wrong and you lose heaps of time. When i had the instructor in the car using his lines I pulled 3 secs off my times.

Winton is a fantastic fun track.

I will try to be there but would prefer a full on track day.
