Hey Chad,

Am looking at fixing the GTR very soon D), could you please put me down as a maybe and as soon as I know for certain ill let you know and pay the deposit....if your out of spots and someone that has the cash ready wants in then obviosley let them take my spot but I would like to reserve a spot for now

Really hope I can get the GTR ready in time, apart from the clutch issue the front tyres grab on the guard lips a bit with medium paced cornering despite being fairly stiff shocks...so definetly fixing that before any hard corning at a track.

Hi Everyone
Our next High Performance Driver Training and Track Driving Day will be held at Sandown on Sunday 21st September
We will be running the day as an 'open pit lane' day, but we will also have 4 qualified (Certificate 3 and 4) instructors with lots of experience.


Our instructors for this date are..
2x Konica V8supercar champion Dean Canto,
Australian Sports Sedan Champion and outright Sandown lap record holder Darren Hossack,
Porsche Carrera Cup Champion Dave Reynolds,
1998 Formula Ford and 2005 Konica V8Supercar Champion Adam Macrow.


We also provide lunches, tea / coffee / soft drinks , flaggies and Racesolutions Motorsport medical / rescue crew.


You do not need a CAMS or ASSA licence to participate in our High Performance Training and Track Driving Days. You also don't require any special modifications to your car.


Typically, drivers can expect more than 200 kilometres of track driving for the day.


The format we run to is: 3 groups of fifteen drivers, twenty minutes of track time per hour.
Start time is 8.30 am for safety briefing, track is open from 9.00 am until 4.00pm.

Friday Nights at Sandown are not too far away...
Just a small reminder that our exclusive Friday Night Trackdriving Sessions at Sandown Raceway will begin on Friday 10th October.

These tracknights (evenings ??) will run from 5.00pm until 9.00pm with lapping from 5.30 until 8.30.

Three groups of 15 drivers, 20 minutes of circuit driving per hour for each group.

Cost is only $150.00 per driver, we are taking bookings now !

ok well i had to ask... but anyway, i am pumped for this event. never been on a real track before... now i can start doing some sprint days through SAUVIC... Phillip island sprints is in november, just after i finish exams

yup thats the best thing about this day, not timed etc so its not like your jumping straight onto a track playing agaisnt people. go at your own pace, test out different styles of cornering, braking etc. do a hard lap, do a soft lap. instructors on hand to go for a lap and teach you a few things.

I might not be able to make this one, way too many work expenses at the moment. Who would have thought starting your own business would be expensive?

I will do my best to scrape the cash together though, I know it is well worth it.

I am looking forward to this, good to see Col and Andrew flying the NA flag too, where is Mark hiding? :biggrin: I have been practising Sandown on the playstation Question: will i come close to hitting the standard J-spec 180km/h speed limiter on this track? All so does the speed limiter cut spark and will i foul plugs if i do hit it?

 

I have been trying, but his jedi mind tricks are rendering my attempts void thus far. :biggrin: Although I do recall a "I'll go on the track when BigCol does" statement. :biggrin:

 

i really dont get why people are afraid to go... its not a race. you will not be rewarded for passing someone. you will not be rewarded for going faster than someone.

its just a good chance to get out there and have a go. go at your own pace. try different things. test your brakes. test your cornering. get some great pointers from the pros...

i think most people are afraid of someone else hitting them. this will be confirmed when we are together in person...if someone is gaining onto you then you simply move to the left and let them pass by. you are not going to be rewarded for going faster than him, nor is there any reason to try and stay infront of him if he is gaining onto you. im sure every1 will be cautious about this and we will definatly have a clean day....

i do hope more come to this. its a great chance to get out there and the best about it is driving with many zeds on the track at once...should be great espppp for an incam vid setup

 

In Mark's defense he wants to wait until his TT engine is ready to swap in just in case his engine goes bang. Not that it will, because it's in great shape. But I absolutely understand his hesitation as he doesn't want to be zed-less for a year while he rebuilds the TT engine. I'm sure if we do this again in 12 months time he'll be first in the queue!
