Did you talk to a manager or a phone monkey? Also, did you make it very clear to them that it is a training day and there is no timing of any kind, that is what usually what makes the difference.

Other than that I am not sure what you can do, with timed events (races and sprints) I think you just take the risk and look after any damage yourself.

That track is pretty safe with big grass areas and sand traps at most of the corners and traffic is quite light as the groups are small and spread out.

 

I'm out too, sorry mate but we're selling up and moving house around that time.

 

ditto with peter. give them another call and make it clear to them that it is with driver dynamics and it is a driver training. there is not lap timing involved it is not a race and you are not competing in anything.

tried again

and spoke to the manager this time and he went to have a look on the web site and definately not covered . He said as it is just unlimited on the track they will not cover this ,i said that it is not timed but he still said no go . He said if it is advanced driving course or even high speed advanced driving course that would be ok but not this .
This is disapointing and i may have to look at a different insurance company when the renewal comes . But this will count me out if this is the case.

 

Sounds odd for someone like Shannons.

For the record I am with CGU and they definitely cover me at these events, just not times events. They wont touch an import though so that is only good if you have an Aus spec car.

this is what the day is called. tell them its that "HIGH PERFORMANCE TRAINING". if you mention training etc thats what should make the difference. i dont think you have convinced them that is a training course, there are experienced instructors in the car with you etc. i think they think you are just going out on a track and letting loose...

im with shannons aswell but i havnt rang them yet. i will ring them sometime soon and let you know how i went...

 

i pushed the point of training and instructors but they were very definate.
i also pushed the point of Shannons being for car enthusiests ect but they still wernt interested
