this should be AWSOME

hope the weather holds up forcast shows rain. BUT it only says a few showers here and there. so hopefully its dry on our runs

 

I will try to get down there to see the first session or two, really disappointed I am not driving.

A couple of pointers from my first time there, it is worth bringing along wheel chock. The pit area is sloped and with chocks you can leave your engine running and brakes off while you are cooling down after each session.

Also, they cater quite well for drivers for lunch and stuff but spectators will need to bring their own food.

 

Not too long now, like a few people have said, hopefully the rain stays away until we finish the track action...a wet track might cause havok for those with little track experience ie me

 

Yep, I'm all ready and can't wait. In the past 2 weeks the cars been serviced, trans has been serviced, brake pads changed all round (thanks Caz!), and 4 new Eagle F1's today.

 

I hada service not long before DECA, but I havent changed my brake pads...might havea short day with fading brakes for me

 

almost ready

have installed some a1rm's front and rear. rotors have good meat in them. also installed some brake ducting. now just gotta install a funnel for the ducting to scoop in as much air as possible.

trans was serviced with new filter and fluid not long ago, when i installed the shift kit. fluid still nice colour.

semi slicks at the front for me. my street tyres on the rear.

filters were cleaned thoroughly just before deca. engine oil is still about 3thou kays away from changing.

pretty much almost set just gotta get these funnels for the ducts in place which should only take a couple of minutes to do on saturday...

thinking of bleeding the brake fluid and putting in some higher temp fluid. the fluid i got in there is good dot4 fluid, so ill see if i have time. if not it should still be good. have done some hard twisty drives with alot of braking and is all good.

will double check the car on conzult and do a boost leak test on sat aswell.

not much else i can think of.. cant wait for this am shitting myself bad though :bash:

 

Chad, do you know if I'l be able to go around with my PDA hooked up or not? (ie would it be considered a safety risk?)

 

Im planning to take my greddy informetre with me to keep an eye on temps mainly, I guess you just need to have it looking really secure in its mounting...

 

my power steering rack is shit so ill be going slow around the corners........

Says to arrive around 8:15

for an 8:30 compulsory driver meeting. I'll be looking closer to 8:00 to arrive for me. Now just to decide whether to fit the new coolers before or after?

unfortunatly tektrader will not be with us on the day so we have 9 zeds now.

has anyone spoken to royszx??? every1 else on the list has confirmed thay are coming and ready except for roy. anyone know his number and give him a call and double check everything sweet? he has a fair drive to sandown would be good if we can just confirm he is still coming...

 

Chad, do we need to take the spare wheel out of the boot for the day?

 

no idea. would be too late to email them and they havnt got back to me on the last email either. so just bring them, they said no special requirements so i think it should be fine. if not we should be able to just leave them on the side
