    Some more pics

Wow, what an awesome weekend. Firstly, a big thanks to BigBaz for organisation of the accomodation. It really was a cosy and nice place to stay. Secondly, it was a real pleasure to meet the interstate crew. I have known many of you for many years on the forum, but never in person. That has now changed, and I hope to catch up with you all again soon. You're all fantastic.

    Ok, on with the pics...

This is was our humble zed ranch. Plenty of room for zeds, and the little houses / cabins were really nice (its a pitty Baroo's and red32's zed got in the way of the pics :)).

On the saturday while the race folk were out doing scrutineering and the morning laps, I was out with red32 and baroo doing the tarmac rally. It was not a speed event, but rather a course of getting from A to Z, while following instructions and answering questions along the way. I was red32's navigator, with Baroo in pursuit..:) Dough really gave the NA a workout on those roads. It was heaps of fun, unfortuneatly dont have any pics as I was too busy navigating and holding onto the door rail while dougy had fun on the twisty roads...:) Below is a pic of the start point, with a whole bunch of Nissans from across a diverse range of decades. Needless to say, Roy's lambo doors as seen in the pic attracted a lot of attention.

This is craig's (Renzed's boyfriend) awesome R32 GTR, with renee (Renzed) and Andrew (kraussy) as navigators, trying to run me over.

After the rally, it was off to the track to see the zed boys and girls on the track. My camera is not suited to taking close up track shots, so someone else can show those..:) Below is Blipman's skyline and the WYKKED mobile.

Saturday night, after the racing and washing of zeds was drunken and crazy behaviour night. I dont have any pics of this night unfortuneatly as I was slowly consuming beer and trying to convince the people around me that charcoal grey zeds are really the best colored zeds (long story). From what I remember of the night before I went to bed was an awesome bbq, ben getting absolutely trashed and trying to smoke cigar's while instructing to me the intrigue and subtlies of poker, while at the same time being distracted by James girlfriend showing us all how well she can pole dance (and yes, she was quite awesome.:)).... Later I found out that ben invented Beer Hooves (I'll let him explain that one) and that Fleet got totally trashed..:) Anyway, it was a great night.

During the course of the night, the drunken poker lads designed a new body kit which is soon to go into production. By the time I was able to get photo's the morning after, the night time frost had made it a bit saggy, but you get the idea. BigBaz's car was the guinea pig.

The day after was the Show n Shine in which I snagged 3rd place for my category (modified, 1990-1999). The Z32's represented well, but there were heaps of older zeds and other datsuns which NDSOC is renoun for.

    The jedi mobile....

Roy's 2nd place black beast, with lambo doors..:)

Too many nice cars to show pics off, but gee's I have a soft spot for the older zeds..

Two of my faves were these V8 conversions. One had a big chev V8 which was bloody awesome, and the other was an immaculate 280z with a holden V8 in it. It was by far my fave...:)

    Rb conversions were also popular...

Also, loved this Z31. Immaculate condition.

and lastly, most of the zed gang behind our cars just relaxing in the shade and acknowledging the fact that we drive awesome, sexy cars...:)

Had a great weekend. Was sad to leave today, but at the same time, cant wait for the next.

    Cheers

RedZedMikey RZM should now be DZM

OK ... even more pix ...

I was pissed off not to be on track, but them's the breaks. RedZed will be back! Spent the Saturday with camera in hand taking track piccies. Sunday I had a pen in hand all day as I was judging the modified 1600's - didn't have time to take a single pic all day, check out the other cars closely, or talk turkey with other Zedders. Was a fun day though!

On to the pics - better start with the overall sprint winner, JP in the slot car. First one is coming over the hill leading in to MG corner, and in the second you can see the the fix used to quieten it down after being blackflagged for noise:

Unfortunately JT and Wiz were out early, JT with a boost malady, and Wiz with an oil leak - possibly main seal dropping oiol onto the exhaust. Sorry JT, this is the only pic of you I got, and Ron, you would probably rather have a non-smoky photo I guess ...

Wykked had number 3 and came in 3rd X32 for the day. Should he try to get number 1 next time???

Here is Ports heading down the hill and into MG corner:

Fleet performed very well, picking up 2nd in class to JP, and 9th overall:

Here's a couple of shots of another trophy winner - Caz. Well done!!!

AZA performed well as usual, taking his NA to some very good times:

Nick Henly in his TT - there were 4 silver NSW Zed's on track  , must be a disease over there :D.

Doug was black flagged for not wearing a helmet. But that's understandable, 'cos he wanted to show off his new mohawk hairstyle ... or is it ... no, it couldn't be ... is that actually a Jedi bext to him, on a racetrack??? Taken during the parade lap for the people doing the rally. Doug was later heard to comment that he didn't touch the brakes at all through turn 1, and didn't know what the fuss was about :p :p :p. What was he doing, 80k????

Now to the non Z32's - Blipman surprised himself with a first-in-class time of 1:58:69, 15th overall. Here's a couple of shots of the R32 - the only non-pimp car in his stable!

The car that started it all - one of the first Fairlady's ...

You don't often get overtaking into and through turn one at a track day - but these 2 guys have been around for a while - and they came 2nd and 3rd outright to JP.

Another old stager and long time NDSOC member is John Bellfield. John would probably be in his 60's, but that doesn't stop him showing up a lot of younger guys in his potent pocket rocket GTI-r, coming 11th overall.

Over the back of the circuit at MG corner a lot of people were caught out, resulting in locked brakes, spins, and worse. Unfortunately the sprint organiser rolled her own car here. The roll cage did it's job and Karen only had a bit of bruising, and copped quite a bit of jovial ribbing at the dinner - which she took in good stride. This happened about 5 minutes after I had left the corner, so no action pics of that incident. ABS equipped cars tended not to lock up, but still found it a testing corner.

And that's it - so now everybody starts planning for the 2009 Nationals. We'll all be going to Morgan Park near Warwick in Queensland - at least it's not quite as far as driving to Brisbane! See you there!!!

Such a fantastic showing and excellent weather by the look of things too. You all should be very proud representing the club that way.:zlove:

Maybe next time for my zed guys, sorry I couldn't make it over again for this time. Just wasn't meant to be unfortunately. See if Nadia and I can make it next time though...

(maybe make the next one in S.A.?)

    Awesome track

That has got to be the best race track in the world. Super smooth, great scenery and awesome fast corners and scary. I knew there was something about living in Melbourne. I will be back. I nearly lost it on turn one late in the day as found the limits of the shock settings and she unloaded and nearly went sailing into the ocean. At least it felt like I was.

E Boost button was awesome on the straight especially overtaking the Group A GIO Bathurst GTR down the straight.

Slot car was the fastest car of the day by about two seconds. 1 min 47.42.
Shame Fleet ran out of fuel as I was looking forward to having a run with him.

Top photos guys too with so many expensive cameras I thought there would be some good shots. They are tops.

Great to meet everyone also and catch up.

    Times

JT and Wizard had issues also and would have been quicker if had more of a go. JT only did 3 laps and Wizard 6. Fleet at least did 10 laps. Long way to drive for 10 laps. Could be worse and crashed or blew up motor.

    Times.

I don't think there are any adjective's, adverbs or superlatives that would do Phillip Island
justice. I can understand why the best steerers and riders in the world love the place.:D :D
The track just winds, climbs, ebbs and flows, always challenges and leaves you with
    the biggest grin.  :D :D
I'm already planning my next assault, must drive faster!!!!!
To all those responsible for getting us to PI, a huge thank you.
Great to catch up with all the QLD and VIC members, who's enthusiasm and
ability to suck grog and burn snags on a BBQ is of the highest order.
PS: 9 hours for the return run to Sydney.

    Yes better than I thought

Wiz pushed me to go and long way to tow the slot car and cost and time away from the kids etc but well worth it. Should organise a monster track day with SAU boys and would be huge. Dat Nats not back there until 2013, which is way too far off.

Yes Nigel300 down the straight pushing that button is like putting foot down again and 7970rpm logged in 5th looking at the ocean is daunting.
