    >>had my Z32 privately imported in early march of this year--everythin was goin perfect til sum sleepless cabby probably doin a hungry or something, forgot 2 brake--as a result pulverised the left side of the vehicle onto an enbankment where a three tier give way sign (ironic) snapped my right rear wheel clean off the axle :(:(

...Anywayz he called the jacks--I was in the wrong (i supposedly didn't give 'enuff way')--Just car ins. wiped their hands clean of any involvement (3rd party...hmmph what a MISTAKE!)
Now i'm left with a wreck without a wheel which can't be towed or inspected for that matter...the accident aside>>many of my friends and mechanics say it can't be repaired with a half cut (chassis bent) plus a rear TT half cut is hard to find :(

I would prefer an engine transfer to a TT shell--still loking, but im having second thoughts>>itz quite a big job plus i'm thinking of just selling up on everything and starting fresh...

    >>>sorry couldn't get the pic up>>>> but it was very nasty, perhaps something ZED owners sholdn't be looking at!..heh heh

Q: Where are the experienced specialist mechanics around Melb?
Q: How do i go about dismantling all parts and front half cut??
Q: Finally---> What would YOU DO?

    All adice is welcome.

    some answers....

sorry to hear about your accident dude!..:( If you need some mechanical advice call Nissport. You can reach spencer on 0419323574. They are located in Braeside near Morrabic airport. There is also Z shop but I dont have their contact details. Do a search for Z shop.

As to what I would do, I would follow it up more with your insurance company. Why did they wipe your hands of you?? or did they have issues with your car?? Obviously, if you are in the wrong, they wont fix your car anyway. Personally, I would only ever get full comp insurance but that tip is pretty pointless to you now. If I was in your situation, without insurance support, I would just cut my losses, sell the wreck (either in pieces or whole) and just stand again when it was finacially viable.

    Cheers

    Totally agree with Jedi77

Firstly I would like to say I'm sorry to hear about the accident. :( Hopefully you can sort out this mess as soon as possible. (whichever option you may choose from the advice that may be provided.)

Anyway, I would recommend Nissport as the mechanic in VIC. I would think that what Jedi77 say is appropriate. (took the words right out of my mouth). You may recover your losses by selling off the bits of your car that is still usable. I doubt it is easy to find just a shell to put the engine into....Wait... I remembered seeing an "abandoned" Z near Simon (TTZ) shop. I could call and see if they want to get rid of it. It's pretty "old" and there are spiderwebs everywhere and dust on the windows. They do not have the front bumper and the "nose cone" so you could use your current Z parts to replace those bits that need replacing. Their engine would be gone too I guess as it looks like it has not been driven for a LONG LONG time and plus the steering wheel is missing I think (from what I can see through those dirty windows). If you want, PM me and I could try and find out and give you their details.

But I think if I were in your shoes, I will call the mechanics and find out how much it would cost to do an engine transfer, how much a shell costs before deciding. There is a very likely chance that the cost of doing all that may cost you more then what you would pay if you were to get another car imported. So in some ways, selling off your leftover bits and then getting a new car would be a more viable option.

    Anyway, Good Luck with that.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Think seriously about starting....

again, as it may be more cost effective in the long run. However, I too remember seeing an abondoned(?) Z next to F1 panels - this may be a real option for you. I think it was a 2+2 though....I may be wrong.

I hate to bring this up (sorry, sorry for the timing ...) but if your are going to sell some bits off your car (a grey interior 2 seater I hope), I am very interested.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

    Thats bad luck,

    it is all good advice,
perhapes if you could get another z before you sold this one, you could use what parts needed to make next one smick. then sell whats left.

    that abandoned zed....

is actually one of simons zeds. It may not look like much at the moment, but he has some big plans for that car. And although it may not look like it, under the webs and dirt and all, the paint job on the car is actually pretty good...:)

    Cheers

    OMG...

... thats bad, i thought that i had it bad when a taxi reversed into the left side of my car, but this takes the cake... are u a P plater by any chance? coz in my case when the cops arrived to dish out the blame as soon as they saw the red P all the blame fell on me as they said i was blocking the driveway that the cabby was reversing out off...

    front wreck

not sure if this is any help to ya but check the local wreckers cos last week there was a written off Zed that was sold at the auctions that had a front impact, if you choose to use the rear half, chase it up.
