    I use Motul 4100 turbolight 10W40.......

its a semi synthetic, works well and is only about $8 a litre. My zed is only a road car, if you are thinking of putting yours on the track then maybe full synthetic might be worth thinking about. I change my oil AND filter every 5000kms, its cheap insurance against engine wear.If this is your first oil change I would also do gearbox and diff as well; wouldn't hurt to renew brake fluid while you're at it. It's always nice to start with a clean slate when you get a zed.Cheers:D

    Best?

Well, Amsoil just may be the best oil in the world... especially the series 2000 stuff.
But :) Shell Helix Ultra 15w-50 is $127 for a 20 litre drum delivered to your door and is fully synthetic. But make sure you get the 15w-50 and not the 5w-50.
Maybe not the best, but it keeps the F1 world champions car running sweet. :) and at $6 a litre it's surely the best value full synthetic on the market.

I've been using it for 4years & haven't had a problem.:YD Just make sure you get the right grade for your locations climate, as this will affect the way your car will run.:YD }) :-Z

    Mobil1 10W30 right now, Motul 5W40

next. Cause I feel it's a little thin and Mobil 1 is not available at 5W40. Would Motul V300 5W40 be overkill though for NA road car ? I heard what's good for race car isn't always good for your engine as they're designed to give more power in short time (less than 24 hours) and then bugger all. And road oil is designed for more stop and go driving and temperature flexibility? But I guess that's why we can choose from different viscosity to suit our needs for power/reliability ? :D

"oils is oils, Sol!" except for the cheap

stuff. They all have to comply with a proper specification and except for very minor additives they wont vary much. But the price certainly will!
Synthetics arent necessarilly better. But if you paid around $30/ 5litres then you would be getting a high grade oil.
    Much like toothpaste!:D regards John:cool:

you get what you pay for

in most cases anyway. So buy the brand you're comfortable with. All the above mentioned brands are good if you buy the full synthetic version in your viscosity range.

    Simon is....

Simon is known as Simon/Stillen on this forum. Look up his screen name in the members directory. He is the owner of TTZ (www.TTzed.com), where many of us get parts for ours cars. He is also a wealth of information on zeds, and will spends ages explaining stuff to you if need be. Definitely someone you should consider speaking to if you need something.Cheers
