Its been a busy week for me, moved into a new house and also went home to Geelong to pick up my other toy, a 1974 XB Falcon coupe that I have had in storage for the last 5 years. Heres my Zed in its new Garage, complete with downlights, a mirrored back wall/trophy area and plenty of storage for tools etc. Also took the opportunity to paint the wall and put up some artwork. On Friday I drove to Geelong to pick up the Coupe, I have had this car 16 years (was my first car when I was 16) but its been sitting here for the last 5 while I have been moved around with work. Its basically complete apart from the Stroked 650HP 351 Windsor that is currently being assembled. Heres what it looked like after seeing daylight for the first time since feb 2003 At least the interior is still clean. One of my mates kindly lent me his Subaru Forester to use as a tow vehicle and I hired a trailer in Sydney and towed it down to Victoria empty. The drive home was a slow one, took about 14 hours. Stopped at Holbrook to get a pic of the Submarine next to the Highway to break the boredom. Home and washed. Now just have to fit the engine and finish off a few things then it will be for sale as 1 toy is enough work/expense for me.
mate that is the hottest silver zed i have ever seen, have always loved black mags on silver zeds, nice and that beast of a thing looks hot as well, should be nice
Nope, but its stroked to 416ci with a cleveland 400 crank and 454 Chevy conrods, has Wiseco forged pistons, Cleveland 4V heads with lots of port work and larger valves, roller cam, fuel injection on top of a high rise Roush intake manifold, High energy oil pan for the track and lots of other stuff.
Yeahg that sounds like it will do the job. 650hp sounded like a big call for a 351 when u first said it, but a 351 windsor with 4v clevo heads is pretty much the BOSS 351 set up. stroked out is definatley a good idea for a heavy car like the XB. Very impressive set up. it willl be a monster when done
dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i dont know how you will be able to part with the xb....put it this way, the longer u keep it the more it will give u in return...so sexy ****insert heart****
where did ya get the 4 piece rear light kit? and the clear rear bumper reflectors? jus what im looking for
With the procedes ... Of the sale of the hard top you will be able to afford 2 Z's geez with the money hardtops are pulling these days maybe 3. Congrats on new house, BrisZ
dude LOVE the garage!!!! I love seeing pimped out garages. Gives me inspiration. Mine is a generouse size double garage with workshop on the side (big enough to fit a 3rd car if it had a door at the front) but needs some TLC to bring it up to scratch. Also LOVE the Falcon. What price will she be going for? How does it compare to the zed? 1/4 mile times?
Not sure Yet, hard to put a price on these as there arn't many left now. They were very prone to rusting which claimed alot. To find a straight rust free Coupe like mine is difficult. It has all the GT options (like the 127 litre fuel tank that costs over $200 to fill!) but it's not a GT, if it was it would be worth a fair bit more. I have seen other XB Coupes in this condition get listed between $30,000 - $120,000 in Unique cars, so somewhere in that bracket 1970's standards of handling and braking are somewhat behind the 1990's, but straight line the old muscle cars are fun to drive and a completely different driving experience. Will have to wait and see, other people have run in the 10's with a similar setup.
WOW JT, thats awesome! I would never go inside with a garage like that. :zlove: Its great to finally see your XB, I can now understand your passion for it. Beautiful car!! Don't sell it JT, its too special...
