    Hi all,

Just seeking some feedback / interest in a new service I'm considering based around Buying & Selling services for 300ZXs.

I already do pre-purchase inspections and have been involved in some buying/selling of 300zx's over the last 2.5-3 years but I feel there is a market for more in this area.

With so many 300zx?s changing hands these days and the real sale price and value of used sports cars like ours being difficult to pinpoint, I want to offer a range of services to help anyone buying and selling Z32 300zx's in Brisbane, Gold & Sunshine Coasts and surrounds.

In addition to pre-purchase inspections, the extra services would be:

    For sellers:
    • Achieving the best price possible.
[*]Presenting and marketing your zed in the best possible way to make it stand out from the rest.

[*]Assistance in initial pricing and negotiation through to having the entire price haggling aspect handled by myself on your behalf.
    • Pre purchase inspections to be fully informed of the likely cost of any repairs
    For buyers:
    • Paying the lowest price possible.
    • Buy with confidence: Pre purchase inspection including researching the service history of the car, any upcoming repair costs and likely actual market value. If I inspect a 'lemon' zed, I will report this and offer to inspect the next zed for free.
    • Assistance in negotiation through to having the entire price haggling aspect handled by myself on the buyers behalf.
Apart from zedcare.com, my 'white-collar' trade has been in training, selling and negotiating in all sorts of commodies over the last 30 years so I feel I have some skills to offer in these areas.

I?m not a licensed motor vehicle dealer. I?m simply offering fellow 300zx enthusiasts with information that can help them get the best out of their buying and/or selling transaction and zed experience.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Specificaly from any current sellers or buyers if possible.

    thanks
    mark

MARK ... a fine concept ,,, but i see a major potential for a conflict of interest scenario ..

.. the situation will undoubtedly arise where you will be requested to represent both buyer and seller .... therein lies the rub .....!!!!

Hi Baz. Thats for the feedback.

I've already anticipated this and one of the rules would be I can only act for the first party who has engaged me.

thats a good workaround, however knowing that tyou'd be speaking on behalf of the seller would potentially reduce buyer confidence.

I think if you're good at pre-purchase inspections as part of your core business (something you have an excellent reputation in), then you should steer very well clear of trying to "assist in sales" on behalf of sellers.

becoming a "sales rep" reduces the value of your opinions from a buyers perspective imho.

at present, for most members, your word is gold, gospel if you like. If you say a zed is good, everyone belives you.

If you enter in to helping sales, no matter how honestly you intened to pursue that, your word on what to buy would involentarily become more open to questioning

    he didn't do my inspection.

He simply said he knew the car and it was a good buy based on what he thought he knew.

He never did a pre-sale inspection of my car. I want to be clear on that.

Ive observed Zed4Lifes good rep with members on here and believe when commisioned to do a pre-sale inspection, he is good at it and trust worthy.

hence my adivce above. I dont think that rep would last long if openly seen to "help sales" on certain zeds.

I see it as a very bad move indeed.

That said, id prefer "helping sales" to be up front, and for someone in this line of work to stear clear of FS threads on the forum.

A good initiative Mark. No conflict of interest if you act for Forum Member potential buyer of a non-forum member vehicle.

I have done many such inspections over the years and usually on Zeds f/s on CarSales or other 'off-forum' sites.

With respect to Member Zed's f/s .... a pre-purchase OR pre-sale inspection should be impartial. ie: Negotiation on price left to Buyer/Seller based on your qualified report, yes?

IMHO: ZedCare Zed check beats RACQ hands down. :)

Thats really good feedback ugame, thank you

This was something I wasn't sure how people would interpret and your thoughts below indicate that it could easily be misconstrued.

Certainly if people might interpret me as a zed car "salesman" then that could put into question any rep I've earnt and rep is important to me, because I believe in honestly telling it like it is.

In that respect, maybe I'd make a 'poor' used care salesman;)!!! (no offence to any legitimate used car salespeople on here!)

As the thread title says, I was just seeking feedback and now I think I'll just focus on the pre purchase / sale inspections and offer advice on how to go about negotiations if anyone needs this. Certainly acting on behalf of a buyer to a non-forum zed owner wouldn't have any implications.

    Thanks all for the feedback.

    glad i could help :D

Thinking about it....maybe the way round is to offer your "pre sale inspection" services to the sellers as well as the buyers.

Then a confident seller could commision you to do the pre-sales inspection and post up ALL results. Un Tainted, same report as a buyer would get.

Then maybe you could have a "Zed Cares pick of the month" on your website if you find a real goodun.... but at no extra cost, so everyone knows you're not commision based etc etc or getting anything out of the sale.

So same money you'd earn from a presales inspection from a buyer, is what you get from a confident seller too. Nothing extra. no incentive to fluff the truth.

    That could work.

    BUT..........and here's the but.....

it makes for a poor business model.

1 car for sale.....if the SELLER pays you for the inspection to assist his/her sale, you only get paid ONCE.

1 car for sale..... but 5 potential BUYERS may pay you for inspections to the same car .......;)

    cha-CHING
    :zlove:
