I know theres been some discussion on this in the past but I cant find the threads. I ran into the guy today that owns the Zed Ute and had a good chat, nice bloke. My first comment was "What were you thinking?" and he gave me a perfectly reasonable response. "I had a Zed shell, I needed a ute so I made one, its a show piece for my business" He carries engines and all sorts of shit in the back The thing has a drop down tailgate where the rear light panel is, fully engineered. Definitely not something for the purists but for what it is its pretty cool, not something you see everyday.
was an awesome idea. Definitely not something for the purist...... but how many of our cars would still meet the conditions of such. Think his username was "The General". Apart from the spotlights, it looked like a good conversion.
... i'm with you, Stu .. the guy had the gear and a purpose ...business promotion ... top result ... and well worth the repost .....
It was a shell prior. Better being a car on the road that has had extensive work done and taken care of, rather than being crushed in the scrap heap.
I think with a nicer paint job it'll look much much better... It's the black/white camo that's making look cheap and nasty. Otherwise the craftsmanship looks pretty well done.
I like it. It's out of the ordinary. I never liked the whole sheep thing anyway. Abit like this S13 Skyvia ute that Dan Kenneally at Add Racing has been running for a few years now. It's now teamed up Rockstar as well Hogs Breath with an S15 front, so utes like this must be alright!
That's what I read. TT auto to NA man for daily use. Open an investigation on whether it is socially acceptable to have such a vehicle why don't ya's!
I do like the idea but i think it could have been nicer done, the rear is just cut straight down... needs to be flowing more so it still has that sleek look. like when you take the boot off you have that on the side. can kinda see it there lol
Yeah, like the Maloo is a good example! They look like arse anyway. Have a look at that silvia ute I posted. It doesn't go straight down. It's got a hint of Kingswood style in it. Could just leave the rear quarters and slightly re shape it to flow better. I agree that cutting to the B pillar just doesn't look right. It tapers back. At least perfectly straight up and down as a minimum. Anyway, it's his car and I like it. I think a 10" lift kit, some muddies and a bull bar should set it off nicely.
yeah the siliva is better but there is still no radius on the camfer and too straight cut if i had the space and the time i have always wanted to get a zed shell put it on a hilux chassis, ute style tray and slap an rb25 (or keep zed engine in it) 4x4 targas, ute, zed, mini zed monster truck.
