Hi all, I have recently purchased a zed after deciding it was time to step up from an 85 exa turbo (sales pitch- exa still runs great but needs to go if intersted PM me) I am located in Bendigo and am wondering if there are any other Zed owners in the area to catch up with and get some advice from. The car is an 89 TT 5 speed manual recently listed on carsales and come from geelong. Car has been resprayed white with black highlight and vielside body kit. if you know any information on this car let me know.. cheers.
Would be interested to know if its really Meg's zed...i heard the zed was in a accident and was getting stripped... Abraham
Wow, that looks amazing. Veilside kit and all... Never thought i'd say it but some Z's pull the kit off quite nicely..
It is Meg's zed Good to see it not scrapped...but it was in a accident as it can be seen in the pics of the front bar...ive seen that zed and its quite nice Can i ask how much you picked it up for? Very nice zed...i will buy your guards if you want stock guards I have been after those guards for ages!!! Have a talk with Bryan @ Brytech as he did almost all the work on that zed... Abraham
have any back ground on it. She sold it with out reg so its in the shed getting some TLC, it was pretty tired when i got it and would like some info on it.
Umm, it has a tie to Bryan at Brytech in Geelong. Maybe give him a call and see what he knows as he did all/most of the work on that zed. I know it came from interstate, had a shit ton of trouble getting it back to Vic in one piece and that it ran well whenever I saw it. Like I said, I believe it had a stock rebuild at some stage, don't quote me though.
the front bar has been swiped by a gutter, i'm taking it off this week to re fibre glass If possible or replace. Other than that there wqs no other damage (insert ignorance here - as i haven't pulled the bar of yet to look for the full extent of th damage) Sorry i'm keeing the gaurds and kit and looking at cleaning it up over time.. It will become my daily drive so it will be out on the road a bit - the car looks to good to keep in a shed.
It was well maintained by Bryan back in the day as he is our local zed specialist...no idea after that...lots of parts were installed and replaced as it was well taken care off... The engine was in great nick, possibly had a rebuild at some stage if i remember the conversations ive had with Meg and Bryan...but all this was quite some time back, so cant help with anything recent.. Have a chat with Bryan @ Brytech...his shop is in Bellarine (Geelong)....he will be able to give me more information about its past than any of us....and would be able to help you with anything needed to be done with it Abraham
Just so you know, even though you probably already do, the guards are made of fiberglass, so daily driving will yield stone chips. In fact I think one of the fins on the guards had a chip last time I saw it a few months ago. Something to think about if you want to daily it.
The front bar, side skirts, gaurds and rear bar are all fiberglass...so keep in mind that you need to be careful about where you drive...and Dean is correct i believe if i remember correctly about the guards... Also, you spoiler is fiberglassed onto the hatch, that is why it is sitting flush...also Bryan installed the interior and doubl din panel on the zed aswell... By the way, you will most likely see my zed a few times down your end as i visit Bryan's shop once in a while I was there on friday all night You should get Bryan to copy the guards Abraham
Welcome to the forum...there are a few of us on here from Bendigo. - MickW - parker - airton89zx - s_t_r_e_t_c_h (Puckapunyal) ...and myself of course
work is about 4ks from home and i do a few trips a month to melbourne... thanks for the info on the fibre glass i had thought as much looking at the finish is some places.. the electrics need a little work and i have asked for some parts on the wanted to buy section. i need to get an rwc any idea of who in bendigo can do this.
LOL so true!! Now that was a build!!! Still need to see it in the flesh Bryan shares his workshop but another guy that does RWC's, so he should be able to do it for you. Bryan also knows plenty about zeds and electrics so he will be the guy you want Abraham
