z32 manual box - RB

sooo thinking of ging RB in my car, rom what i can tell a RB25 bellhousing will bolt on??
also the remote shifter, it looks like i can bolt a standar RB shifter onto the box and plug the remote hole?

sorry, yeah i wanna use my zed box behind a RB less the remote shifter

 

why les the remote shifter
if you move the box back it will hit the firewall

 

i dont have a zed remember, i just want to turn my z32 manual box into a rb25 box, possible? dont worry about the politics

 

lol how much power through the rb? enough to use the rb box. can do you up an adaptor plate to suite

 

whats an adapter worth?
if its too much trouble ill just sell the zed box andbuy a 25 box, i figured if i could through a RB bell housing on and change the shifter it would be a 25 box, reason id bother is because my box is mint and i wouldnt trust another box as much as mine,
350-400hp max

 

use the rb belhousing on your 32 box. will fit from memory

 

mint, what about the shifter? it looks like its tranferable, mind you i actually wouldnt mind the shifter being a bit closer to the seat

 

should be ably to remove the remote mount and put the rb shifter in. or just shorten up the remote mount a few inches.
been reading and you might be able to just swap all the internals over

Z32 gearboxes will fit onto the same bellhousing as RB25DET, and is apparently the same gearbox.

whats the advantage though? Surely the ratios wouldnt be that much different?

Nothing to do with ratios at all, and the ratios are exactly the same. They have the same internals
The RB25 MT front bellhousing can be bolted to the Z32 MT rear half so he wouldn't need to fabricate an adapter plate, and can use existing gearbox mount and driveshaft...

 

well actually no, i dont thinki so, in my car the VG is about 150mm from the fire wall. if i was to put a rb in the rear would be close to on the fire wall. pushing the box back 150mm, hence the reason i want to use a rb25 shifter also, as the shifter will move back 150mm also. and my shaft will need to be shortend
