    How freely should these spin when removed from the car?

    Freely, but nowhere near as freely as ball bearing turbos. When I say that if you spin stock turbo with new bearings and seals by hand, they will spin a couple of revolutions with ball bearing turbos IMHO it will be 5 revs.
