My rear passengerside brake lights stay lit up when the car is parked and turned off. Its just the top row so thats braking and driving lights but the driving lights up front dont stay on. Where can I start looking for causes for these lights staying on? Cheers
Just when I thought I could stay on the road now both sides stay lit up. Where do I start to look for a short in the rear break light circuit?
There is a rubber/plastic stopper at the pedal. Usually brittle and break off by now. When this breaks off the switch for the brake (if you get under there you may find some plastic) the brake light switch is always engaged. I think this is how it operates. The switch is disengaged when the pedal is pressed engaging the brake lights, and when the pedal is relased the switch is then engaged turning the brake lights off. Here's a write up for you http://www.xenonz31.com/Brakelampsstuck.html Depending on if you have cruise control or not i'm pretty sure the other one disengages the cruise control.
Solved Swampy my man you are a mechanical genius Both the rubbers are gone which can explain why the cruise control hasnt worked from day 1. Too late to test the cruise control but Ive put a nut and bolt inplace of the rubbers for now (If it works I will probally keep this setup anyway) on both systems. Just waiting to charge up the battery again and everything should be sweet again. Thanks again. :bow2::bow2:
