Z SHOP NEVER AGAIN !

I wouldn't go there purely because I have heard atleast 5 or 6 people tell me some pretty bad stories about them, and alot of them have relevancy to each other. Thats why I like this forum, opinions and past experiances at workshops aren't moderated and it in turn stops alot of people from getting the same treatment as others before them

 

Well I'm over west, so i can't talk about that store, but i can say that it's amazing how random crap always goes wrong within a few days of taking my car to a workshop.

Don't do it! Do all your work yourself!!!

 

Completely agree! Half the price and you get to learn while you do it. Nothing like the satisfaction of doing something yourself and having something to show for it in the end. Take your time, read the tech section and get some decent tools and you'll probably do a better job that half the mechanics out there because you actually CARE about your car!

and u are deciding to give him the benefit of the doubt and not persue it further? and u are in law enforcement? there must be something wrong with your story! if what you are saying is true and they only thing stopping you from getting your money and parts back is that you are giving him the benefit of the doubt, that sounds pretty weak and more likely his version of the story is true, even deep down inside you say that you believe him (cos u gave him the benefit of the doubt)! would definitely like to hear the otherside of the story now!:bash:

you will then see him in a magistrates court! lol..so you are still thinkin of takin your car back to him after he supposedley stole your parts and ripped you off! your story smells bad man! if it doesnt make sense then it cant be true! Judge Judy would rip you to shreds:bash:

 

I guess unless you had all your parts

marked for identification, it would be very hard to prove that they were swapped, even if you knew it were to be true.

Agree with concensus though, if you know this happened, why take it back?

if the zed wasnt my daily driver i would....but in cases where people have their zeds as daily drivers...then a garage is the way to go.....in this case AMEC lol

 

i went once, a long time ago,
all that needed to be done was an exhaust alignment.. he checked for error codes and other things like shaft play in the turbos which i also felt for myself, checked to see if the waste gate gas flap was hitting the devider in the dump pipe which it clearly wasnt, he then went on and showed me some old turbos n went into depth on the explanation side of things.

like others have said, VERY nice to me and went out of his way to explain things that i didnt really even wanna know, thing is, mi did not leave my car for more than 2 seconds, stood nexto it or under it the whole few hrs it was there and never took my eyes off it.

even when i got my exhaust fitted a local place
i stayed there for the whole 6 or so hrs

 

i wouldn't be so quick to judge, i've had similar problem with a workshop, if they swapped parts how are you supposed to prove it? its your word against the mechanics and at the end of the day if you take them to court thats more money on legal fees. unless it is blatently obvious that they have ripped you off (ie installing 2 knock sensors when there is only one to replace) there isn't much you can do.

secondly.... even if his story was a little off...i would forgive him seeing as how he is in such a pissed off mood and this is apparently not the first case

 

I cannot believe anybody being so plain stupid to throw out accusations in this manner. Names mentioned, and only suspicions.

IF you have a case and have all the evidence to prove it, fine. In this case, mr Z shop can easily take you to court and sue the shirt off you. You can say you don't like somebody, but if you say somebody is a crook and has committed a criminal offense, you better be able to prove it in court.

It would probably be best if the moderators deleted the whole thread before mr Z shop finds out, or he might have the last laugh

 

MY TAKE ON THIS IS...

It always intrigues me that all these workshops say that customer satisfaction is their main priority ,yet they log on to these forums and see these unsatisfied customers and never answer or show any interest
Its like if they keep their mouth shut the problem will go away .I do all my work on my car myself thank goodness ,but if i ever had to get anything done it certainly wouldnt be the ? shop due to all these complaints and no effort to sort these complaints out.:bash:
By the looks of it,there is only one person in Melbourne that is trusted to do work on zeds,and that is Joe at Montrose :zlove:

I've asked when this occurred, in my post above, and also used forum email to contact zxstealth to get more information....deafening silence....hence this post.

It's hard to identify someone from their forum name, and I would like to look into the issue, given my relationship with Z Shop and other well known Melbourne based workshops/mechanics.

Incidentally, the highest priority for any business is more likely profitability, if they don't have that, they can't survive, no matter how altruistic their motivation.

it's become an issue now, after what must be quite a period of time. Hope the silence is broken soon.

I have never had a problem with Z Shop. Never had a part stolen, damaged or swapped. I've seen Z Shop open on Saturday and Sunday nights when some Z owners (some of which are on this forum) are peeing their pants for help, advice, have had an accident, or some other well-known workshop has butchered their Zed. Other workshop owners are at home and are not even contactable as most businesses would be.

Is the prime objective of any business profit? Yes. Would the business make money when a Z owner comes in on a Saturday afternoon to use Z Shop's Conzult and other equipment or knowledge for no cost because this Z owner is worried about some squeek? No. (Example) Would another workshop let a customer 'set up shop' at the back of their own workshop to customise there own manifolds using the workshop's equipment and resources - for free? No.

So to make Z Shop sound simply money-grabbing is not accurate, and those that have used Z Shop resources to the max and for next-to-no cost should say so, instead of sitting quietly. To those Zedders - you should be ashamed of yourselves.
