........ the rear carbing strut brace is going for the same price, and the order of 5 braces can be a combination of front and rear if you want:cool:

    Looks pretty awesome

What's the thinking behind the design? Is there a proven advantage to the the shape over a straight-lined strut brace? Would like to see a pic in an engine bay if possible too.

there sure is! Its shaped like that due to the way it runs across the plenum, this bar sits very low so zero rubbing on bonnet. You will probably need to modify your throttle cover if you wish to retain it, although many people just leave it off, it can definately be retained though with a little work.

more importantly though this is widely regarded as the BEST strut brace for the z32 bar none. This is due to its one piece design, everythings welded so there are no pivot points.

this bar is the ducks nuts & if its still this price after chrissy I'll be getting one myself (finally!)

    cheers, tim

    Thanks for that Tim.

What needs to be done - just shave it down a few millimetres in certain points? Would like to keep my cover on.

I couldn't retain mine when I got the Carbing. Basically it's sitting right on top of the throttle cover and the carbin is slightly curved. You'd basically have to take a chunk out of the middle of the throttle cover or else when the engine moves it will be constantly rubbing against the brace. I rather leave it off, put it back on later if I need to sell the car and keep the carbing :)

Oh and I'm out for the rear one. Lack of funds due to O/S trip. Apologies boys... if this came up a month ago or 2 months later I'd be still in :(

Carbing Strut Brace - Throttle Cover Issue

    Hi all,

Yes please, as above - how much is the throttle cover an issue? Is it only a small touch from the brace or does it squash it down? Does the bonnet fowl and cause an issue?

I would prefer to keep the throttle cover in place.

Thanks, would like to make a purchase - but too many small 'issues' maybe...
