    No..

u cant.. however if u have a little neon light that produces rouglhly the same light as the head unit, and doestnt really take ur eyes of the road in my opinion... u can be booked, just thought id add that

yeh its not hard..you just ground the e-brake wire instead of hooking it to the hand brake.... but i just did it proper as i dont find myself watching TV or DVD's in my car...i got the screen purely for music - and now according to the copps im not allowed...grrrr

i find it lest distracting as it is displayed bigger - requires less focus...jsut a glance is need for the track title... as aposed to the scrolling name which takes up to 30 secs :bash: :bash: :bash:

Oi Will, do us a favour and go and grab the manual for your DVD player. I'm guessing you purchased it in Aus? If the entire unit is not legal for street use it will be clearly marked in the manual along with which ADR's it complies with.

I can't find the legislation at the moment, but I know it says that it must not operate without the park brake on. It doesn't say wether or not you can still use it for SatNav/Radio etc.

Check the manual and let me know what it says, it will make it easier to find the rules

I think you were hard done by the dvd/mp3 player Will.

They should have slapped a fine for those chopped springs instead.

(Don't you love the clunk when the car sits down on top of a speed hump ?)

Why didn't you just retract the screen when you saw the lights flashing behind you. Usually when i see a cop car near by I quickly hit the button to retract the screen so it can't even be seen.

yeh true true...but a defect is as easy as buying springs and putting them in... u cant buy 3 points on ur license u just have to wait the 2 or 3 yrs...or wotever it is for them to replenish...

and as for the cluck sound... i loooove it - i get respect for it lolz. if i cant have the fastest car...im happier with the lowest... its also my anti-speed device...makes me drive a hell of a lot slower!!!

If you were too tired to take the time to press a button on your stereo, then maybe you shouldn't have been driving in that condition. Consider yourself lucky that you're not being charged with manslaughter.
If you were really concerned about not losing your points, why drive a car that is so obviously lowered that it is clearly illegal, and why come on here to blame the Police?

ok...and im sure u havnt driven tired before:bash: :bash: ....
i was too tired to think and worry about what i might get done for... it isnt hard to press a button, but to sit there and think about all possible defect etc whilst your jsut thinking about getting home and concentration purely on driving....

a lowered car is a defect..not points lost.

I'm not on here whining about losing points, you are.
I'm not on here claiming to have a "good record" when I've already lost a couple of points, you are.
Start taking responsibility for your own actions, it's called growing up.

hahah... chili...your always cut at younger people... it must really suck getting old:rolleyes:   :D :D :D

my points being lost had nothing to do with the way i drive.... just had to do with the car i was driving...

if i turn out to be some old guy trying to put down younger car enthusiast on a car forum then i would consider my self to have never grown up...:bash: :bash: :bash:

but i guess you post for our enjoyment...coz i laugh wen i read most of ur posts...!!!:zlove: :zlove: :zlove:

No, it doesn't suck, getting old(but then, you haven't made it yet, so how would you know?):zlove::zlove:

I've owned(and driven) performance cars all of my driving life, and I still have a license(and several receipts for fines), but one thing I haven't got is a record of blaming it all on someone else.
    Do the Crime.....Do the time.:bash::bash::zlove::zlove:

Have I got you laughing along with me yet?:p:zlove::zlove:
