I haven't looked through the entire thread, but if your clutch fan (AUX) is constantly running it is a good indicator your ECU is detecting code 13 (coolant temp sensor) fault.
It is. Clutch fan is on the engine, auxillery fan is the electric fan in front of the air conditioner condensor.
As of a few weeks ago, I have snapped my one and only key. For some reason when i got the car it had 2 keys, one to lock/unlock the car and one for the ignition. Anyway i snapped the one that locks the doors, so what I am wondering is, can I bring my glovebox lock and get a locksmith to cut a key from that? Because my mate was in the same boat a few months ago but he took his drivers side door lock in to the locksmith. And taking the glovebox lock out is easier than a door lock. Cost him $30-$40 Just wondering if this is possible? Thanks
the glovebox locks sometimes have the last cut different so when you have your car serviced you can lock stuff in there, the key thatworks the doors and ignition but not the glovebox or boot is called a service key, so it may not work.
No I don't have one of the red valet keys. The key for my ignition is black, and the key for the locks was a generic one. And it opened the glove box. Is it possible to key a key cut from the glove box lock so I can lock the doors?
i cut and make keys to locks as part of my business and to do this i pull the lock apart and cut the key to the wafers in the barrel and my main experience has been that the boot and glovebox key are slightly different to the door/ ignition usually the last cut on the service/valet key is missing but a good key cutter may be able to work with it, as i've had some success occaisionally
Awesome, Thanks for the information mate. Do you know how much someone would charge for this service usually?
i usually charge around $40 but i am not a quallified locksmith, i have one of those key and shoe repair shops, been doing it for 26years and taught myself to cut keys to locks with no keys, i'm in brisbane though so probably can't help
Today I installed a new FPR because I think this is the problem. But, when i hooked up mums car to mine to jump start it, and after letting it charge my battery a little before I try to turn it over, i tried to start it. After about 10 or so seconds i stopped and let it charge for about a minute. Then i tried to start it again for another 10 seconds, but mums car started to idle weird and turned off, which has never happened before. Now mums car wont start and just keeps turning over, what is the problem? Have I wrecked something in mums car from trying to start mine?
Well its not the fuses and the battery is fine. It sounds like the problem with my 300, it will just keep trying to start but wont turn on. I tried a different battery in my Z and when you try to start it, it sounds like its spiking? hard to explain but it gets faster and faster then slows right down again? Sick of this ish
did u try jumping urs with the dead battery? - may have drained your mums car too much? - I've seen newer cars have problems that they just wont start, even if they kick over if the battery is just a little under charge..
