Shifter boot replacement (free, thank you Ben)
Dash lights & front fog (thank you Steven)Grand total: $13,117.This total would be a lot higher, but thanks to some great friends on this forum, I have been able to have some of the above fixed for free (as listed) and also after John (zcar91) showed me how to do an oil change on my zed, Ive done most servicing myself, which brings my maintenance costs down a bit. Im also lucky to be in a profession where I have been able to sustain this ongoing maintenance and repairs. However, if it wasn't for all the assistance Ive had from this forum, I would have sold this car a long time ago. My apologies if I have forgotten any help that some of you have provided. So lets just do some maths here....
    $13,117 over 15 months, therefore,
    $874 per month, therefore,
    $220 per week.
Of course, this isn't a usual list of repairs for a zed. Lou

Lou's is about the WORST case

ever documented :) Also note hers is a Z32.A Z31 will be much cheaper to repair and work on, but given the extra age and mileage may have a lot of problems.Ben

Heheh I'll top that for ya

In maintenance, Upgrades, Insurance and rego Ive spent a little over $35,000 in 8 months, the last 4 have been quiet for me though, with my money going elsewhere, for the record though I Wanted everything to cost me that much, I could have gotten the same basic results using cheaper parts, it doesn't have to be a costly carAlthough I have lost faith in my Z, and Im importing a 1995+ Z from jappers next year, I want to start over again, and fix some bad decisions.

    mmm bad desisions,

I guess buying an 89 would have been a bad decision for starters, I just wanted a Z bad, and basically went out and bought the first one I encountered (not that its given me many problems)The Haltech makes me nervous, since its fried its circuits once for no reason, I fully expect it to do it again, for that reason, I dont use Air-con, I dont go through drive-through's, or basically any area that will be hard to push the Z, lol 8-} I used stainless piping, and the system has some bends in it, when I should have stipulated that it be completly straight (like the new Labree) and I should have made it titanium pipingAll mistakes that I have classed as a first attempt build, so Im going to scrap this Z, and start again, salvaging nothing, cars are for fun, not for resale value, Im only out to please myself 8D :-Z Besides Im going to japan next year, so im going to bring back a few cars, but mainly a 96+ Zed :YD :-Z
