    Hmmm, ya.....OK??????

I'm not sure what is meant by that statement "can" fit. The H3 and H3C globes have different length filaments. Therefore the light emitted from the H3 globe will be at a different focal length than the H3C. Basic optic principals would deduce that the light pattern created by this offset would be severly squewed. This translates into a less than optimal light pattern, and a less than optimal cutt-off pattern and extreme refraction and scattering of the light pattern. Sure there will be a greater amount of light produced, but it will not be focused correctly and thereby not be an effective means of a light upgrade.

At this point I'm afraid I'll have to pass unless there is someone that can explain that basic optics theories can be maintained by converting from H3 to H3C. Note, it's not simply finding compatability of a globe base but it's the overall length and size of the filament itself that's the issue. I guess I need to know from others that have successfully converted from H3C to H3 (even with halogen bulbs/globes) if there was a noticeable beam pattern change because of the different length of the filament and was this same change (effects) carried over to the HID conversion as well. Everything being equal, I would say it would but would appreciate feedback from those who have gone this route. Also please confirm that there is significant difference in filament length between the H3C and H3 globe.
    Thanks,

    John

A picture is worth a thousand words.

This picture may explain the difference I was talking about. Clearly, there's an extreme difference in filament length between the H3 and H3C. As well, a completely different type of base.

i found this from the skyline

Thank you for the link to the Skyline thread. Although it appears the H3 globe is a direct fit into the H3C socket (which is good) it still doesn't address the end result in the Z projector. Different type and size projectors have different focal lengths. Now unless the Skyline projector is the same size as the Z's then it's a moot point. The Skyline thread also addresses the need for some to add an extra ground wire. I don't know what that's all about.

the H3 halogen: you have one + power to connect to the bulb, and the - are connect to the headlight housing.

H3C halogen: you see the + & - power cable is connect to the bulb.

all the halogen bulb need + & - power, but the H3 halogen get the - from the headlight housing. H3C both + & - connect to the bulb.

all the HID need + & -, i did compare the H3 H3C and the H3 HID, all the spot that produce light are same spot.

i fited one of member in aus300zx, he got a jspec z too. there is no problem to fit on.

If you like the prospect of daylight at night time, then go for it. Especially if you do my headlight wiring mod to keep the lows on :)

    I have 6000k Lows and 5000k highs.

    no, it's not a J-Spec thing :)
There's no point having Fogs coming on with headlights, as that would by definition be no good for driving in fog :).
    Your Zed has been re-wired
